Think your life is boring?

Radio-controlled cars and trucks truly are a labor of love. An expensive hobby no matter which way you slice it, the costs get exponentially higher the more scale accurate you try to make your machines. And when you're talking R/C construction equipment, we'd wager that hundreds of dollars quickly turn into thousands of dollars.

Now that we've established that R/C machinery is an expensive hobby, let's talk about its impact as a time-sucking activity. After all, not only must you completely assemble and perfect your radio-controlled creations, you're certainly going to get them out to play with them. Or, if you're a particular Joe from Saskatchewan, you're going to do real-life work with them.

According to a massive 50-plus-page thread on scale4x4rc.org, every morning Joe gets to work by loading his scale R/C excavator onto the back of a specially made R/C semi truck, then pilots the not-so-heavy equipment into his basement construction site. And by every morning, we mean every morning since June of 2005. Now that's dedication to the hobby. At the end of each day, all the newly excavated dirt and rubble is driven up a spiraling ramp and out the basement window.

Fortunately, Joe has documented his small-scale R/C basement construction project, so we can all gawk and gander at a full suite of photographs and videos showing how it's all been done

    • The playcalling seems suspect at times because there are certain plays we literally cannot run because of the physical limitations of our QB.  The offense looked completely different with Dalton under center but unfortunately he ran out of steam in like 2 games. There were plays he called that I’ve never seen ran for Bryce. Bryce just lacks that type of arm talent. It looks like he created a completely new offense for Bryce now compared to what he was calling when Bryce started the season. Let Dave pick his QB and let Bryce and the new guy battle it out in camp. It should have already happened this past offseason.
    • Yessir, great white knight. Sorry for bringing up relevant numbers that provide perspective. Sleep tight tonight. You have a long day of defending Bryce's honor ahead of you tomorrow. Want some more relevant numbers? Bryce completed 60% of his passes today, his season average. Legette caught 67% of his targets.
    • I think the Bucs and Eagles take care of us but we turn around and beat the Cowboys.  ATL and/or AZ could be wins depending on which version of them you get. TB knows Canales’ offense, and Coen has been calling great games. I have a hard time seeing us beat them this season. 4-13 floor 6-11 ceiling, would be surprised to see 7-10
