#6 LeBron James

King Taharqa

until kobe had to be the superstar

Yeah idk how that scrub didn't win with a starting lineup of:

PG: Smush Parker

SF: Lamar Odom

PF: Brian Cook

C: Chris Mihm / Kwame Brown

LeBron would've won multiple championships with that team, no doubt.

As soon as Kobe got Pau Gasol, arguably the best big of all time he started winning again with Pau carrying him.

Not too shabby.

Maybe they'll get close to 33 reg season wins before it's all through and catch The Logo and Wilt

.

Here's a better goal.

Match the 2000-2001 Los Angeles Lakers Playoff record.

An astounding 15-1 record on the way to the Championship againt the NBA's finest.

Not likely. I would argue that the league was at its weakest point at that time. The Lakers had the 2 best players in the league, the best coach, and the best veterans (Horry, Ron Harper, Shaw, Pretty Ricky Fox, Ho Grant, etc). There was literally no one that could challenge their talent advantage at that time. The league's premier talent is much more evenly spread in 2013 than it was in 2001. And the league is much more competitive.

LeBron went to the finals with Mo Williams, Delonte West, Zydrunas Ilgauskas, Boobie Gibson, and Anderson Varejao.

Mo actually wasnt even on that team. LeBron had Eric Snow & Damon Jones as his PGs and Larry Hughes was another SG along with the other guys you named. Mo Williams signed with the Cavs in the 08-09 season. It only further illustrates your point about the lack of PREMIER talent he had around him at that time.

All trolling aside, I will say that LeBron had one of the best post season runs in recent memory that year. It was absolutely amazing.

A logical explanation I suppose why King went 0-4 in the Finals.

Lebricks 10 of 30 performance in the closeout game was particularly impressive that year.

Not as bad I suppose as his 4 of 16 shooting in the opener.

Kinda scary when you realize he was 9 years in the NBA before ever winning a single NBA Final game.

Guess King had terrible rosters all those years, poor guy.

The fact that King at 22 years old was able to take a franchise that had never been to or been back to a Finals since was and is a major accomplishment. And you're moving the goal posts as if winning a title in Cleveland is what he was expected to do 4 years removed from HS.

Kobe at 22 was not carrying teams the way LeBron was expected to, his 2000 NBA Finals #'s at age 22....

15.6 points per game

4.3 rebounds per game

4.2 assists per game

44.2 minutes per game

41.25 field goal percentage

Not impressive at all, he even had a 2 point game and an 8 point game in the series. He was a NON FACTOR. But with Shaq averaging nearly 40 points a game and 17 rebounds, Kobe's shitty Finals did not stop the Lakers from winning. Kobe could afford to play like poo and his team still win pretty handidly. And you Laker fans BRAG on this as one of Kobe's rings. LOL.

Kobe Bryant has never had a triple double in a playoff or Finals game in his entire career. Let me repeat that again, Kobe Bryant has never had a triple double in a playoff or Finals game in his entire career. LeBron posted a triple double in his very first NBA playoff game (something only Magic has done) and in his last (the last player to post a triple double in a Finals close out game since James Worthy & Tim Duncan).

Look I'm not going to sit here and bash LeBron and praise Kobe. This is LBJ's thread and I will respect that. LBJ is a great player, but as I've always said, I would take a prime Kobe over a prime LeBron. Now that is only my opinion and I really don't care if people happen to disagree. However, you guys are HORRIBLE when it comes to looking at this without bias. During that Kobe 2000 finals Jalen Rose intentionally tripped Kobe Bryant when he was shooting a jumper and caused Kobe to severely sprain his ankle. Kobe was VERY limited for a couple of games afterwards. Granted, Kobe's game 1 wasn't super impressive (38 MIN, 6-13 FG, 0-2 3FG, 2-2 FT, 3 REB, 5 AST, 1 STL, 2 BLK, 2 TO, 14 PTS), but he didn't need to do much as it was a blowout due to Shaq's dominance on offense and Kobe's dominance on defense (Guarding Miller almost exclusively, Bryant would force the Pacer guard in to one of the worst shooting performances in NBA Finals history. Miller would shoot only 1-16 in the game, for a career playoff-low 7 points). I think we can all agree that both are great players, it's just sad to see how many anti-Kobe people there are despite him being a top 10 player of all time.
