Clausen didn't even dress for the majority of the season, that tells you where he stands with this coaching staff.

I still think Clausen could be developed into a serviceable QB, but we need the cap space and all our efforts are focused on developing Cam. If we're going to carry a 3rd QB on the roster, we need to find someone that can run the option... I'm fine with keeping DA around to continue to help Cam learn Chud's offense and to be the veteran presence Cam needs, but the 3rd guy should be a guy that can run the option.

It's not sad to see him go.

He's the worst QB we've ever had in this Franchise's history and one of the worst QBs I've ever seen at the Pro Level.

He is the product of the most successful marketing campaign I can ever remember.

I think Jimmy gets too much hate. He was in a terrible situation his rookie year. He has handled everything with class. He is not as good as fans hoped, but not as bad as most fans think, I think.

Whether or not he is a Panther next season....I will trust Rivera and Chud and Shula to decide that. Either way....I am not going to hate on the guy.

Same with Brady Quinn really. Didn't make enough plays. As much as I liked Quinn coming out of ND and watching him in HS he just didn't make the plays for whatever reason at the pro level.

My guess would be that until Anderson or an alternative is secured there won't be any developments on this front. If Clausen is cut, Armanti's value gains a few clicks simply for being the emergency QB...or maybe not...there's always Naanee...not exactly the two most popular Panthers.

Really!! Jimmy has had 2 years to prove himself. Let's look at this for a min. Jimmy first year he was throwed into the starting role with a coaching staff that didn't really care anymore. So he never had the time to sit back and learn. In the second year Ron and Hurney went for Cam and Jimmy just sit back on the bench and held the clipboard. So how is going to prove himself in 2 years? Mystery to me where you got your info from. If Jimmy was given time and the right coaching. He might be much better then alot people think he is. People are just rushing to judge him before he has had a chance to develope. I would understand if he was in his 3 year and doing crappy. But he has only played one season and a season where the Fox and his Staff could of careless at that time. Didn't have the proper coaching. So before you go off and say he has had 2 seasons to prove himself. Look at the facts first.

To Jaguarfan and Rayzor, never did I say he shouldnt be cut bc he was a "nice guy". I said i dont think hes getting a fair shot from you all. Any other rookie we would give them 2 or 3 yrs but we were writing him off after yr 1.

Now, if somebody would give me a good argument to cutting him then i couldnt complain. For me a good reason to cut him:

1. Picked up a qb in the draft with a similiar skillset to Cam so we wouldnt have to change the offence

For me a stupid reason to cut him:

1. Cut Jimmy bc he was awful as a rookie. Give me a ham sandwich for Jimmy.

Imagine if the front office gave up on players after 1 yr. Below are just a few examples of players who wouldnt be here.

1. Steve Smith (as a WR. As a PR or KR he would have sticked)

2. Deangelo

3. CJ

4. James Anderson
