As much as I love and marvel at Smitty. Even I have to say he needs to blow up for pretty much whatever time he has left. Throw in at least one moster year of say 1700 and 20. And let's not forget playoff runs and Championships. (For the sheer joy for me, and the exposure for Smitty.)

If that happens I will probably have died of a giddy attack. But, Smitty may then have a real shot. The Hall is for the truely great. Smitty is considered elite. As I have stated, IMO, he needs some help, exposure, and a whole lotta luck to get in the Hall.

Just a thought, and GOOOOO CATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is going to be at least another 10 years before Smitty will be eligble. No one can say what circumstance will unfold in that amount of time. To say that x amount of WRs are going to be there. Or that certain players will deserve it more. Or any hypothetical scenario will conspire to keep Smitty out. Well, it is just plain annoying.

If Smitty erupts until he retires. And whose to say he won't. He may just get in. And there ain't nothing anyone can say that will alter that perception for me, and my fellow die hards.

Saying a current elite player cannot make the Hall before he is done playing. Is, well, kinda goofy. And GOOOOOOO CATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kalil and Beason are the only current Panthers that have a good shot at the HoF if they continue their current pace. I love Smitty to death but time and again history has shown that it's hard for WRs to get in and there are so many good wideouts that will be retiring about the same time.
