Pat White in the second round for Panthers?

what do you mean, "players like him?" guys who are multi-talented?

look at his stats and give a reason why he isn't a good QB.

By players like him I mean guys who can supposedly "do it all" in college, ala a Vince Young or a Reggie Bush. I just think he'll have a hard time transitioning to the NFL game as a QB and won't be very successful.

what i thought.

because he is supposedly similar to those two he is bound to bust.

i could use the same thought processes and claim him to be another donovan mcnabb or even steve young.

both of those guys were the type who could "do it all" in college.

But your guess is as good as mine. Just like how you think Sanchez will be a bust.

You're guessing just as much as he is, but it's cool.

Mine had basis, his didn't.

What season was Delhomme without his top 4 or 5 running backs? The one time (one game) he dropped to RB #4, he looked completely lost against Seattle and couldn't get anything at all going against a team that basically triple teamed our #1 receiver. That game wasn't completely on him (ARZ pretty much was) but making stuff up to make him look better is just as dumb as saying he's complete trash.

He's just mostly trash at this point :)

I know that you probably weren't a Panthers fan back then, but I was talking about 2004. Look it up if you need to.

more reason to think that sanchez will be a bust. we have seen 4 years of white which is plenty to see what he can do.

we have seen one year of sanchez. only reason he went this year was because he would have gotten lost in the crowd. this was his only chance to get in the first round so he took it.

Pat White would be a God send to this team. Much like Steve Smith, he's the kind of player that is explosive with the ball in his hands regardless of where he gets it. He's a football player.

With that said, it'll never happen. We'll draft a backup center out of the university of popular school.

Oh, as for White.

Can you imagine if we actually drafted him? The first play the guy accidentally fell forward a few feet he'd be run out of the state by fans screaming about Vick.

LOL. Losing repeatedly to a QB that looks like and plays like Mike Vick obviously has had a traumatic effect on some in Pantherland. Its not a coincidence the 2 black QBs who've come into the league with the most hype and made the most $$$ (Vick and Young) are now being used to scare people away from potentials like a Pat White. :yesnod:

The team that takes Pat White will have plenty of picks and won't mind gambling one on a guy who will likely sit the bench for a few years.

For us as it stands we have 5 total picks. We surely can't use our top pick on a guy who won't see the field this year or next. We need someone who will contribute from day one.

If we trade Peppers and get a few picks for him then we might be a candidate for White. Otherwise we need to concentrate on finding a starter or day 1 contributor not a project.

Why is color of skin such a big deal to you, it means nothing to me, (I'll probably never understand this)?...

We're a team who's had trouble picking players in the 2nd round who arent projects let alone day 1 contributors. Bruce Nelson, Keary Colbert, Eric Shelton, Dwayne Jarrett, Richard Marshall (finally becoming a starter due to cap reasons), etc. We havent gotten alot of value in that round. Reaching on a 2nd round DE who will not replace Pepper's production is not the answer.
