Pat White in the second round for Panthers?

I didn't follow White's career, but from everything that I have read during this off season has been decidedly positive. He turned heads at the combine with his accuracy and strength, and is a versatile athlete. IF he is ALL that, then I can see why he would be on our radar with th 59th. Sometimes it just comes down to the BAP. It just may be worth the gamble, and may pay off in spades. It's not like our D-line is awful, and that our youngsters in the defensive backfield can't step up (as they have already shown some desire and promise), so White just might be in play with an aging Jake. I wouldn't bet the house on it though.

Not really understanding why people would want a smaller version of Vince Young to run our team?? Sure, White could make SOME of the throws in COLLEGE but that is completely different from the NFL...If we used our first pick on him the draft would be a bust before it even got started.

Pat White would be a HUGE upgrade over an aging Jake Delhomme. The question is is our head coach and offense creative enough to utilize a Pat White? Do they have the know how and playcalling ability to bring out the best in a QB like Pat White? I dont think so. I think you're gonna stick with stationary QBs and caveman playcalling in Carolina. Pat White will go to a more prolific offense.

How can a guy who has never taken a snap in an NFL game be an upgrade? Pat White reminds me of Doug Flutie, how many rings does he have? Meanwhile, pocket QB's like Manning and Brady have all kinds of bling.

Yeah, Pat White would be awesome and then we could bring Dan Henning back and run the Wildcat every down....

No thanks, kids got talent but how much winning did ATL do with Vick and TENN do with Young? Exactly...

Thats funny, Vince Young and Tennessee whooped our ass last time we played them. I know because I was at the game in Nashville. Vince Young is also a young QB with alot of football miles left on him. He's been to just as many pro bowls as our QB and Vick has been to more. The only thing Jake Delhomme has ever done that those two havent is lose a Super Bowl. Jake Delhomme is a less skilled Brett Favre, a gambler with limited pocket presence who must be "protected" in an offense. Thats a huge liability thats been choking our offenses neck for the past 6 years. With a Pat White you dont have that problem because he can extend plays and make things happen with his arm on the move.

How is an aging pocket passing QB that cant read defenses and has 0 mobility going to lead us to a Super Bowl?
