Pat White in the second round for Panthers?

for some reason i think the pats would be a good fit for him. they got enough picks that drafting a QB in second to play behind brady for a few years makes sense

For some strange reason I think the Pats are scouting him for another team and trade. They are where to free with the info that he was visiting and he didnt viosit once but twice.

With 3 second round picks they can afford to use one on White to see if he develops. If he doesn't, they aren't out much given they had 2 others.

From Read interesting is the bold part. Knew they went to the proday but hadnt heard anything else.

Comment: Although some fans have lost faith in Delhomme, the Panthers coaching staff has not so don’t look for a change here unless a top quarterback surprisingly falls into the second round. General manager Marty Hurney reiterated what coach John Fox said after the 2008 season – that Delhomme is the starter. Of course, Delhomme is 34 and the Panthers need to develop a potential replacement. Few think McCown fits that role, but Moore has a chance if he begins to take the game a little more seriously. He struggled in the preseason last year and needs to bounce back. The Panthers could draft a quarterback on day two of the draft, but quite frankly they have more pressing needs. That said West Virginia’s Pat White is a guy the Panthers have scouted and invested some time with.

i'm neutral on the whole pat white in the 2nd deal...if we get him good, if not good

but....

Could you imagine the wildcat formation with White, Stewart, and Williams in the backfield...with smith split out wide. Scary

WVU football season 2007. They had a WR that they used just like we used Smith (smoke passes and reverses) Along with Slaton and Schmitt.

With adding White it would be hard to pick your poison on defense man that just make drool thinking about it.

OK lets put this puppy to bed.

Pat White his first 3 years at WVU he had Rich Rodriguez coaching him. Rich's thinking was the same as some on this board that all Pat could do was run the ball. The only time he was able to throw was cross routes and screen passes once in the blue moon Rodriguez would let him throw it deep usually resulting in a TD as most teams played the run. If that Pat White had come out I would say stay away.

This past season new HC new OC. That let White throw it more. White didnt start feeling comfortable with the system until late November from what I heard. But as everyone knows he lit up and hada great Car Carebowl.

Know with all that said he wont come in here and be ready to run the offense. He will be able to come in and run the wildcat as most of it is what he did the first 3 years at WVU. But if he is give time to learn how to play QB in the NFL he could be special. The only problem I can see him having is his height which he would have to do a lot of bootleg passes and his frame. He has put on alot of muscle since the bowl game I think he went from 189 to 205 but with that said he played alot of games banged up and when he was hurting the whole team stunk(pitt game and everytime he played USF).

So while I would like to pick him up I can see it both ways he could get drafted as early as the high first round or in the Fourth round.

Read bold please. He needed to sit like I said. When he first got drafted by Miami they was bringing him along nicely the problem was Pennington got hurt and they picked up Thigpen. With Henne, Pennington and Thingpen there was no room for him in Miami. Now the rest of the NFL wont touch him because he has no good game film. He will need to go to the UFL this season and next offseason get on with a team and hopefully show them he has improved.
