Pat White in the second round for Panthers?

In 75 years of football, 1 black GM, 10 black head coaches, probably less than 20 starting black QBs out of a pool of thousands upon thousands of opportunities.

See here is your problem and why YOU are a bigot. You don't do any research, you just randomly throw numbers out there and accuse everyone of being racist. If you had done any fact checking whatsoever you'd find a large history of black starting QB's:

Doug Williams

Warren Moon

Randall Cunningham

Shaun King

Quincy Carter

Daunte Culpepper

Kordell Stewart

David Garrard

Byron Leftwich

Donovan McNabb

Michael Vick

Vince Young

Jason Campbell

Charlie Batch

Jamarcus Russel

Cleo Lemon

Travaris Jackson

Charlie Brackins

Marlin Briscoe

Vince Evans

Joe Gilliam

Steve McNair

Rodney Peete

Fritz Pollard (all the way back in 1918)

Andre Ware

That's JUST starting QB's and I am leaving people off, so the list isn't even complete.

Marlin Briscoe started 1 year and was quickly moved to WR. LOL. Joe Gilliam should HARDLY be considered a starting black QB. He started six games. LOL Brandon's mad because the truth hurts. Now name me Brandon the 1,000 starting white QBs and tell me truthfully the opportunities are even. Here I'll help you out....

I could go on and on for days. Do any of yall remember Bryan Cox the LBer who played for the Dolphins and Patriots. He said in the 90s "there's alot of sorry white QBs in the league, why cant there be a lot of sorry black ones?"

I dont think the Panthers are a racist organization and I dont think they should hire someone just because. But their track record speaks for itself. They've NEVER drafted a black QB EVER. What does that tell us? That tells us they dont value the ability and potential a black QB can bring to this franchise. A guy people can look up to as a leader and face. A guy that can make plays with his arm and his feet. A guy that can rally his teammates and inspire them thru his unique style of play. When they wanted players at other positions, they found ways to get those players. Yet we've never nabbed us a young black QB wiith some upside and ability. To ignore that trend is looney. And its not like we havent drafted the Chris Weinkes and Stefan Lefors of the world!! We always claim we want to be Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh had 2 black QBs on their roster just last year! And get this, they won a Super Bowl! Dan Rooney has been a trail blazer in the league for giving black guys opportunities as leaders. He is a living legend. The rest of the league including the Panthers needs to catch up.

didnt we draft damayune craig?

how many QBs have the panthers drafted ever? 5 and 2 of them were in the inaugural year. the fact that they haven't drafted a black one means very little when you are talking about an organization that doesn't draft QBs.

we had one drafted in the first round, 2 in the 4th, one in the 5th and one in the 6th. you know what that means? it doesn't mean that they are avoiding BLACK QBs, they have just not placed a high priority on drafting QBs at all.

they have only had 5 starting QBs ever in this franchise (not counting the fiasco that was 2007),

collins (3 years, 1 season with a winning record as a panther)

beuerlein (3 years, best season with us....8-8)

weinke (1 year...1-14 record)

peete (1 year...7-7 record with the panthers and was 36 years old at that point)

jake (6 years...50-31 record as a QB and 5-3 in the playoffs having gone 3 times)

we haven't had a lot of QBs in our history. only one has really had a winning record and he has had the job for 6 out of 14 years the franchise has been in existence. can we do better? absolutely. should we try and find a better one for th future? absolutely. should we draft one because he's black? no. we should get the best QB available when we go on the market. i don't care what race or nationality he is. neither should anyone else. just get us someone who can get us a ring.

Wow so take off 3.... that still leaves much much more than the "less than 20" you proclaimed earlier. What a joke.

Tell me, at what percentage of black starting QB's in the NFL will you be happy?

There's alot of horrible QBs in this league man. People keep acting like its a league filled with a plethora of very good QBs. The bar is low, there should be alot more representation than there is. I'll be happy when mediocre QBs like Shaun King and Tavaris Jackson can hold clipboards for 10 years like the Joey Harringtons and Kyle Bollers of the world. I'll be happy when a black superstar QB like McNabb or McNair can strongarm their organization and still be seen as media darlings and faces of franchises. I'll be happy when people start bringing up Carson Palmer and Matt Ryans salaries when they assess their worth like they do the superstar black QBs.

You are now officially the biggest racist and bigot I have ever met or known. No matter what happens in this world, people like you will continue to blame everything on race.

It must be really sad to go through life an angy and bitter person like you....continue to blame everything bad on "The White Man". That way, you never have to take any responsibility for your own actions or lack of accomplishments.

Cool. So what about hispanic QB's? Or do you only care about blacks in such a position?

By the way don't change your answer, the question was more rhetorical since you've shown your hand already.

We've never met and I'm actually pretty happy. Im about to go up to Lexington, NC. Ever been there? Its a great town, stop thru there when you get a chance. I said it before, if you're angry with the facts Ive posted, dont be mad at me. The track record speaks for itself. Its not about blaming the white man. Its about missing out on the leadership of a different style of QB. I'll take your anger and harsh words as a sign that you are embarassed just as I at the lack of disparity given to black QBs who display athletic ability. It hurts me too MadHatter.

I would welcome more hispanic QBs. Flores was a productive player and won a title as a HC with the Raiiders. If you can show me evidence of widespread occurences of hispanic QBs being told to move to WR and KR and people immediately questioning their arm, leadership and intelligence simply because of their skintone I'll gladly carry the cross for them too.

See there you go again, lying. It's not just athletic black QB's being told to switch over to WR/KR/RB. It happens to white players too. It's because as a whole athletic QB's are huge assets in college when most defenses aren't fast enough to contain them, but in NFL that advantage is wiped away for all but the best athletic QB's.
