What about players who beat up their teammates? That "morally vacauous thug" bullpoo your talking sounds eerily familiar to what people say about our own #89. Guess we got a problem too.

Having met Steve multiple times I can disagree with this statement 110%. His teammates love him, he's a generally good locker room presence despite some of his issues, he's very good to his fans and most of all he was able to move on from his personal issues. Yeah he had a problem with anger and still struggles with it but if you think that even compares to Vick's personal demons I find that laughable.

Like Jake Delhomme? LOL. You could take everything you just typed about Vince Young and easily apply it to our starting QB. Only difference is, Vince Young is 26 years old in his 4th season, Jake Delhomme is 34 with 10 years under his belt! Ive never seen Vince Young throw 5 picks and fumble the ball in any game let alone a playoff game.

Wow if you want I can fabricate things as well. How about you provide some PROOF about Jake being stupid (which he's not) or emotionally fragile (which he's not). Oh and here are Vince's absolutely astounding career stats:

444comp/775att 57.3% comp pct 4964yds 6.41ypa 22td/32int 68.8 passer rating

Jake's stats are significantly better. Oh and if you wanna bring up Vince's rushing stats they're not all that spectacular either.

I dont have to use McNabb to make my point. I can just use Jay Cutler and Brett Favre. Tell me Brandon 1 black QB who has ever pulled stunts successfully like those two crybabies and still was able to stay in that vaunted "benefit of the doubt zone" that those 2 have? What black QB playing today could hold his team hostage for 4 straight offseasons like Favre did? What black QB playing today could publicly come out and diss his coach, cry that his team was shopping and then demand a trade? And still garner public sympathy? There's not one.

And for the record Brandon I can promise you there's nothing in this world that you have that I want. Dont take yourself so seriously. LOL. Anything I want or I have in this world I got on my own. Ive never asked anyone on this board for anything. Keep that in mind defensive one.

No black QB ever has pulled a stunt like those two, nice straw man. If you remember correctly there is a massive negative opinion about both players now. On the record I, along with many other Huddlers, never liked Cutler or Favre.

Wow way to miss my point, yet again.

Dude, Pat White is gonna be OK. Its alot of WVU fans on this board, they know what this kid can do. Pat White is gonna be alright. Some team is gonna draft him and be a happy camper. I'm not worried about him. Im worried about us and our neoconservative passive ass ways.

Hey man its human nature to want to associate with ppl that are close in appearance to themselves. Just most of us rise above this tendency.

I know some folks who've had the pleasure of working with Steve Smith on some local things in the community. And Ive been told he's nothing but a stand up guy. A giving person. A human being who wants to make change for the better when it comes to our youth. But people on the outside, outside of this market dont see that. All they know is he makes loud celebrations on the field and beats up his teammates. Ive met opposing fans who absolutely cant stand him and think he's a "thug". They dont see what you or I see.

As for Vick, he made some big mistakes off the field that have cost him everything he values in his life. He's paying a huge debt to society 1 he may never be able to recover him. Despite all of that, it doesnt change the fact he was a very good collegiate football player (who put V Tech's football program on the map) and was a good football player and QB in the NFL. 3-time pro bowler and took that sorry ass Falcons franchise to the NFCG!!! He gave us problems for 5 years, and anyone who acts like he didnt is LYING, it was the backbone of our rivarly with Atlanta for the greater part of this decade. Off the field he's not the stick figure "thug" demon that you're potraying him to be. I know some people personally who's lives he's touched and made a positive difference in. To this day they still absolutely love that man and pray for his redemption with his maker. You dont have to forgive Vick for what he did to them dogs. Thats your choice. But forgive Vick for using his incredible athletic ability to become an NFL QB and beat us all those times. I did a long time ago and I feel better for it. :D

Jake is very emotionally fragile. How can that be argued? Maybe not in the sense that he's gonna crawl up under a rock when things go bad, but he's very outward with his emotions. He's throwing his arms in the air and shouting profanities when things get to him or crying to the refs. He's bitching at teammates on the sidelines, even when he fugs up a throw. The guy breaks down in post game interviews looking all sad and doey eyed after he's thrown 4-5 picks. He's had his emotionally fragile moments. There's no argument Jake has proven to be a better passer & QB than Vince. You'll get no argument from me. Do I think Jake's upside is greater than Vince Young? HELL NO!

No black QB ever has pulled a stunt like those two, nice straw man. If you remember correctly there is a massive negative opinion about both players now. On the record I, along with many other Huddlers, never liked Cutler or Favre.

Massive negative opinion of Favre? Will it keep the "good old boy" Favre out of the Hall? Has there been a 24 hour non stop barrage & psychoanalysis of the mistakes of Favre? When you think CANCER in the NFL, is Brett Favre the first name that pops up? Are Prilosec and Wrangler pulling their endorsement deals with Favre for bad publicity? Does anyone ever talk about the fact Favre also has had dog fighting ventures in the past? Part of the reason so many people NOW dont like Favre and feel his legacy is tainted is because they see Favre doing things and getting away with things that they know no black player could do and still be praised for and considered an "Iron Man" for and it makes them embarassed for it. I like Favre and think he's a Hall Of Famer, but Ive always been amused by the obvious "good old boy" preferential treatment that Favre has gotten for winning 1 Super Bowl.

As for Cutler, that boy aint got no hair on his chest. He's earned no stripes in this league. Hasnt taken a playoff snap. Has a losing record as a starter. Yet he can bitchslap the Broncos organization publicly and still be seen as a "hot commodity". The guy publicly dissed his newly hired head coach man! The man his boss JUST hired! Thats his immediate authority figure and no one says nothing. LOL. Imagine David Garrard coming out shitting on Jack Del Rio, crying about the Jags wanting to trade him, then demanding they trade him to a contender. Imagine word getting out Garrard wouldnt return his owner Wayne Weaver's phone calls for a week after the story broke. You think the ESPN headline is gonna read "David Garrard feels misled"? LOL. You think people are gonna be saying "hey man, I feel what he's going thru man, I mean like really dude, I would be mad at my coach too! We should bring him here!!!" LOL. NO! Garrard is gonna be painted as a malcontent, a money hungry elitist ***** who dares speak out against his authority figure and head coach. Are there gonna be teams lining up to dump their guys (like the Redskins were about to do with Jason Campbell) to make Garrard the new face of their franchise? Is it gonna be "Garrard finds new home in Bears" and thats it? Of course not, Donovan McNabb cant even pull a stunt like that and get the public behind him. Black QBs arent allowed in that sacred "benefit of the doubt zone".

When it comes to Smith, I prefer to base things off of reality rather than the perception of others. Regardless I've seen a lot of both players and I can tell you that while Smith may be unfairly accused of being a thug by the ignorant, I can assure you that the perception does fit Vick. He's not a raving sociopath but the problem is that he wasn't a good person at all.

As for Vick's on the field performance, he was a terrific athlete, but as a football player he lacked the ability to translate that athleticism into real QB production like other mobile QB's have. Fans let him off the hook for years because he was exciting to watch, but when you break down the film he was a horrible quarterback.

Jake is very emotionally fragile. How can that be argued? Maybe not in the sense that he's gonna crawl up under a rock when things go bad, but he's very outward with his emotions. There is a BIG difference between being emotional and emotionally fragile. Rather than being despondent about his elbow injury, Jake worked his ass off to come back and lead this team. I'm ready for a change at QB as well but Jake is much better than you and a lot of other people on this board give him credit for. Intangibles are a hard thing to replace and Jake has them. If Young were any sort of a leader I'd cut him some slack but just look how the team responded when KERRY COLLINS of all people took over.

Yeah and Vick fans cut Vick the same slack the Favre fans cut Favre. The issue is that a lot of Favre's issues weren't brought out into the light until after being the QB of the Packers for a decade. Also where are you getting the supposed reports of dog fighting involvement for Brett? Seriously that's a bit of a reach. Yeah he hunts but that's quite a bit different. Unlike Vick, Favre carried himself well in public up until the past couple years.

As far as the Cutler comment, how do you know that Garrard or McNabb would be treated differently? The reason Garrard and McNabb haven't done it is because they aren't whiney bitches like Cutler, and they don't need out of their current situations. Remember, media and public opinion of Cutler went way down amongst non-Bears fans after finding out he lied in the first place.

OK lets put this puppy to bed.

Pat White his first 3 years at WVU he had Rich Rodriguez coaching him. Rich's thinking was the same as some on this board that all Pat could do was run the ball. The only time he was able to throw was cross routes and screen passes once in the blue moon Rodriguez would let him throw it deep usually resulting in a TD as most teams played the run. If that Pat White had come out I would say stay away.

This past season new HC new OC. That let White throw it more. White didnt start feeling comfortable with the system until late November from what I heard. But as everyone knows he lit up and hada great Car Carebowl.

Know with all that said he wont come in here and be ready to run the offense. He will be able to come in and run the wildcat as most of it is what he did the first 3 years at WVU. But if he is give time to learn how to play QB in the NFL he could be special. The only problem I can see him having is his height which he would have to do a lot of bootleg passes and his frame. He has put on alot of muscle since the bowl game I think he went from 189 to 205 but with that said he played alot of games banged up and when he was hurting the whole team stunk(pitt game and everytime he played USF).

So while I would like to pick him up I can see it both ways he could get drafted as early as the high first round or in the Fourth round.
