Luck can play a huge part in someone's success... You could win the lottery and make smart decisions once you have that amount of cashflow.

On the other hand, your average person is born in a household that is at or below the definition of middle-class, which for all intents and purposes is "poor." That has a huge effect on what lies ahead of you in life. To be a success, you have to work exponentially harder to overcome those obstacles... Or, you can get lucky and have a natural athletic talent, that you can work to improve, and end up as a professional athlete somewhere down the line...

In the old days, things were similar... but this guy's argument is basically that Jerry is working to get things for older players, but not hard enough? Sorry, I don't pity that argument. You alone are responsible for your own life choices. If it had been a freak accident and you had been incapacitated on the work site, I can see your argument. But, since your plight is caused by repetitive injury that you know you had to feel at some point in time before it got to be a bigger issue, then the blame is on your shoulders...

I don't think luck had much to do with it.

You're right.

His poo food business blossomed into a shipping cartel due solely to hard work.

No one else has ever worked hard in fast food as evidenced by their lack of comparable success.
