2 OL, a seriously fun mock draft.

Here is a draft that everybody will have fun with, it’s a plausible draft that never will happen, but plausible.

OK here goes. Chud runs the Air Coral(sp.) style of offense, (correct?). Well by definition, it is power run first, then medium to deep passing routes second, with an emphasis on tight-ends. So with this definition in mind we hurt really BAD. We have an ageing 31 year old left tackle, A veteran left guard that’s over paid, a no true right guard, and a often injury prone right tackle, with one bright spot of a Pro-Bowl Center. Wow that is a lot to think about.

So let’s begin:

First round- would be a roadgrader right guard to help the right tackle open huge holes and help him from being so injury prone.

Second round- a big left guard/OT that could push defensive tackles around and in time move out to left tackle if need be.

The Picks:

With the first pick- David DeCastro, who has a long projected pro bowl career ahead of him. Him and Otah could open up massive holes for our running-backs (and Quarterback) for years.

There could be a trade back a little and still get him, and get an extra third round.

With the second pick- Keechi Osemele a huge left guard that would help extend Gross’s career. He is big, strong, and agile enough to move left tackle when the time comes.

With the rest of the draft spent on nothing but defense.

Starting with Weak-side linebacker.

The third round pick-needs to be the best weak side linebacker left at this pick, probably one of these linebackers will be available (Travis Lewis, Bobby Wagner, Keenan Robinson, or Emmanuel Acho). Let’s face it head-on nobody really wants to give up on Thomas Davis, but TD’s career as a starter or even back- up is over.

The forth round pick- Carmen Messina. There is a need at middle linebacker to back-up Beaston, also Conner will be gone in free agency.

The fifth, sixth, seventh rounds, and all compensation picks be a defensive tackle, defensive backs, and special team players.

Am maybe Isaiah Pead- I know an offensive player, but he is a college running back that will remind you a little of Darren Sproils.

We don't have a 3rd round pick this year.

Ya know offensive linemen aren't the nice flashy picks and playmakers that everybody love to see, but they are the heart of an offense. It starts in the trenches. Although I don't wanna see our first 2 rounds of the draft spent on OG's I wouldnt mind it too bad. That just mean that we would obviously have the best offensive line in the league. And that could go a long way with deangelo, j stew, and cam.

So like I said wouldny mind seeing it happen

sorry for not being clear about third round pick. it was for a slight trade down

say to a seatlle a quarterback hungry team they get our eightth and we get their 11th or 12th and 3rd rounder 75th or 76th. they pick (Ryan Tannehill or Nick Foles depending on combine), and our picks DeCastro in 1st(12th), and best outside linebacker with the 3rd rounder(75th or 76th).

I actually agree with your 1st pick and think that is a real strong possibility but picking G's in both the 1st and 2nd rounds has almost 0 possibility. If we pick Decastro 1st it will either be a CB, S, or DL with the 2nd.

I am actually on board with the first pick basically cause we were weak in the middle last year and that's were most of the pressure came from so getting a future all pro is not a bad idea. Now depending on what happens in free agency some things could happen like maybe the browns land flinn from GB so rg3 slides down or others shoot up the draft boards and one of the top six falls to us at 8. We could end up with the top corner in the draft, hard to pass up. So I think we see guard either with first or second pick.

and somehow we still have one of the best Olines in the NFL, some guys coming off of injured reserve, and Byron Bell should be even better.

we could upgrade our OL just fine by somehow scoring a 3rd round pick and going after some order of mitchell schwartz and amini silatolu.

we don't need to/shouldn't draft OL in the first 2 rounds to upgrade it.
