most under-hyped story of 2011?

Sorry, I am not fully on the Cam bandwagon yet. We have 2 RBs who set an NFL record several seasons ago, yet they took a backseat to Cam's rushing attempts. I want a Field General in a QB not a 3rd RB under center. I don't mind if he takes off when he has to or if he tucks it and runs if he sees an opening when no other passing options are open. I do not want, however, a 'Michael Vick' at Carolina. Michael Vick, after all, hasn't won squat! Our offense wasn't balanced this year, and, as I said, our stud RBs took a back seat to Cam this past season. It didn't help our RBs that our OL wasn't the best this year. Man, I was so excited to draft Otah, the 'human road-grader', which he was at 1st...before his knees went 'buh-bye'. <Sigh>

is this a real post

i mean you did watch the panthers this year right

also i don't think you have to worry about "another michael vick" as cam newton has already blown past vick's best season in terms of passing yards and tied his best season in terms of passing touchdowns.

seriously though i can't believe there are still people comparing him to michael vick. they aren't similar players at all and cam's career arc won't resemble vick's because vick spent his first several seasons screwing around and not taking his profession particularly seriously per his own admission. that's proven to not be an issue with cam whatsoever.

cam's already a more polished football player now than vick was prior to 2010. they're more dissimilar than not unless you want to get into a bunch of nebulous bullshit about his "attitude" because he made a pouty face after getting planted once.

I'll take having the most explosive offensive in the league. Thanks!

smh

well, we have both in the same guy.

get on board or go find a team that has a one dimensional QB that you approve of.

the league going forward is going to need to have QBs that are true dual threat QBs like newton. he is now the standard. did you not notice that he set records as a passer and a runner? how in the world could you not be on that wagon?

/pretending i'm interested

With a rookie QB, we had the 13th ranked passing offense and the 3rd ranked rushing attack.

What exactly is it you want in an offense

If you were looking for cam coverage (most panther fans do) than ya found it.

It was very little to the The Golden Calf of Bristol mania, which was severely overhyped.

I looked for cam coverage quite a bit in december, and it was very little.

Considering what cam had done...he wasn't the story he would have been if he was in a different market. (Dallas, washington DC, new york....etc, etc. Winning would have forced other markets to pay attention...but the same rookie year, including wins, would have been blow up in one of the other markets mentioned.

I personally. Don't care if he's hyped or not....although it does sicken me they give more time to The Golden Calf of Bristol, and you can't even compare the two quarterbacks.
