Whether you think its a sport or not, thats complete hogwash. Racing around a track at 200mph with 40 plus other cars going at similar speeds is a lot more physically challenging than hitting a golf ball.

Lol 200 that's like the fastest a human has ever travelled lol

I'm sorry i forgot about all the nascar drivers that failed physicals and weren't allowed to race or get caught for taking performance enhancing drugs so that they can turn the wheel with the proper technique

Gin and juice as a former racer can you do one glute ham raise?

In proper form btw

Being a good racer has a lot more to do with great reflexes and awareness of your surroundings, neither of which have much to do with athleticism

Not sure what that is or if I call it something different, but I lift weights and play Adult league soccer so I'm not a complete stranger to getting in touch with the athletic side. Did u not read where I said racers aren't athletes? And "quick" reflexes can often get you in trouble. Reflexes need to be Sharp, but analytical skills need to be sharper. Now quit talking like you know what makes a racer. Told you, 87mph in the Accord doesn't make you an authority to judge.

Bricklayers have to lay brick super fast and with super good technique. They also have to meet deadlines and stuff for the contractor so it's pretty much a sport. THERE IS VERY LITTLE ROOM FOR ERROR WITH BRICKLAYING.

Turn it into a competition and I could label it a sport! Wouldn't be a bloodsport tho until at least 25 ft up without lanyards.

people like you are the reason why espn tries to redefine any organized competition as a sport

They now have to take physicals! And same can be said about you and your car, but like uhave room for error on the highway, so do truckers

so simply because there's very little room for error that makes NASCAR physically demanding? Neurosurgeons have very little room for error as well I guess we can say that makes it physically demanding as well so I guess it's a sport too.

Not sure what that is or if I call it something different, but I lift weights and play Adult league soccer so I'm not a complete stranger to getting in touch with the athletic side.

A lot of people who "lift weights" do not have the agility to do one proper.

Can you skin the cat? 12X?

Did u not read where I said racers aren't athletes?

because you contradicted yourself. "Racers aren't athletes but they're more athletes than golfers!" You can't say something doesn't fall into a category but at the same time fits better in there than something else.

And "quick" reflexes can often get you in trouble. Reflexes need to be Sharp, but analytical skills need to be sharper.

is analyzing physically demanding? I'm not saying there isn't mental accountability in racing because there is a shitload, more so than powerlifting, but powerlifters are athletes.

Now quit talking like you know what makes a racer. Told you, 87mph in the Accord doesn't make you an authority to judge.

I don't drive an accord you stupid poo so stop shoehorning that vanilla illustration. Just because you've played 9-hole mini putt doesn't make you an authority to judge the manual and biokinetic dexterity required to play golf like a bau5. And I don't even play golf.

LOL at anybody who thinks golf is a sport. Golf is a hobby.

Or do all sports have a division for women over 50?

And before anybody pulls out the "_______ makes over 50 million a year playing golf" bull, remember that doctors and lawyers make a lot of money, too. Money doesn't equal sports.

Congrats! Your logic replaced racing as a sport with pro bass fishing! It takes a lot of muscle control to put the lure exactly where its intended to go! Either way you look at it, us rednecks can hang one of our "sports" on your logic.

I did not contradict myself, neither drivers nor golfers fit the "athlete" mold. What is aggrevating is when elitest wannabes start speaking out against racing due to its southern roots. Sure those guys do not plank often or take yoga classes, however if I put you in just a kart then I'm sure you will complain about your shoulders after being run over by everyone for being in the way!

My sincerest apologies for accusing you of driving an Accord......ur definitely a Chevy Volt driver!

if nascar drivers are athletes, and a sport is defined as a controllled competition between athletes, then by definition nascar is a sport

also people need to get over vick.

ehhhh, I don't really care about Vick as a player, but as a person I'll never "get over" what he did. he'll always be a piece of poo scumbag in my book.

I've got no issues with people that have forgiven him or root for him, in fact I enjoy watching him play because outside of Cammy Cam I'm not sure there is a more exciting QB to watch when he's on a roll.. just can't stand the guy.
