Stadium yardsale?

With the new logo, there will be a ton of signage and whatnot being replaced this offseason.

I know some teams have public yardsales for fans to score some (now) old school swag.

I've also heard of some teams just throwing the stuff out on the curb for pickup.

I know the Sabres just basically tossed everything this past year when they changed from the old slug logo.

Just wondering if anyone has heard anything about this? Or if anyone who lives/works close to BOA had seen anything being thrown out?

If/when the team does get rid of all the old stuff, there should be some pretty sweet stuff to be had.

My step-mother's brother got a whole truckload of free gear when the Sabres switched. Including a huge 8ft metal neon sign.

I doubt they will be outright thrown away. I also doubt they will sell them yardsale style or even auction them off. Probably sell them to businesses that might be looking for that kind of thing.

Yeah, the Panthers have done this before... I think in 2007 because I went there and got some stuff that went back as far as 1995. One thing I didn't get, and I wish I had, was a letter from the old Ericsson Stadium signs. But I did get a game used ball, a game used jersey, and a couple t-shirts from the inaugural game in Clemson. I also did the tour, while I was there. It was awesome! It was in the summer and I think it was advertised on the web site. You should email someone in the public relations department and ask... I think they'd be the ones to know.

A couple of seasons back the Panthers replaced some of the tackling dummies and gear and the carpet in the locker room. one of the guys on another board lived right there in Charlotte and got to go to a sale of all the stuff being replaced. He sent me a big box filled with a roll of the carpet and one of the tackling dummies, plus a few other things.

My son and I attended Spring training that year and brought the tackling dummy pad. After one practice, Kemo was walking back up the hill, saw the pad, and said, "Hey, I remember that pad!" He started to walk over and called all of the D-Line players over to sign it - I guess he thought it was cool. Jordan Gross and a few other linemen came over as well and signed it. It was awesome. It is now part of what my wife calls my 'Panther Shrine' in my 'Man Room'. LOL! :p

I'd assume they're going to have some kind of "yard sale" I was thinking about stuff like all the nice metal chairs they have in the club level with the old logo etched in the back. I'm sure they'll give the employees first dibs on whatever they want to grab, I would email the Panthers about it and find out.

I suspect they may also donate some of the stuff to charities.

Went to the sale in 2007 and got some great items- A 8ftx9ft picture of Steve Smith from the x clown z play against st louis, the only turn style they have sold (at least at that time) bunch of Ericsson stadium flags, lettering and posters ect. It was awsome and great prices the turn style and large smith poster were only $100 each.

If they do that again with all the old logo stuff I will be back in heaven- my wife on the other hand not so much.

Called PR, said they didn't know of anything like this coming up. He said he was going to check around and get back to me a few days. As that is unlikely to happen, ill just call him back on friday.
