I read that he was extended which is different.

Now I'm confused about this and can't find any real info on it.

All players are under contract until the end of the league year (March 12) which means that any player that signs between now and then, whether their contract is technically over or not, is considered an extension of their current contract.

well since it would be stupid to overpay Shockey who is injury prone, its not a failed post. Especially when we have a young TE waiting in the wings.

I'm pretty sure the Panthers will make moves either through free agency or the draft to sure up their offensive line. Just because the defense was terrible doesn't mean you don't improve the offense where they have weaknesses.
