Resident Village Idiot KC Joyner thinks RG3 > Cam

RG3 is an awesome player.

If he had played in the SEC, he wouldn't have been near as awesome a player as he was at Baylor.

Exactly. Not to take anything away from RGIII, but it's a totally different ballgame when facing Big XII defenses versus SEC defenses...

As others have said, time will tell. I pulled for RG3 this season - he's an amazing athlete with a great persona - easy to root for the guy.

Having said that, I'm not ready to dismiss the success that Cam had last season as "oh welp, he's just the first in a new era of QB's and every rookie starter from here on out will throw for four thousand yards and herp derp." Bullpoo - Cam is special, and until the next crop of QB's fail to surpass his marks, then we will hear this crap.

and if cam wouldn't have played last year, proving his skill-set could dominate, every sports pundit would be bashing rg3 saying how he won't do anything. seriously, do these guys even think about what they are writing?

But Cam and RG3 aren't exactly comparable skill-set wise....oh crap,

KC Joyner has made a career out of being laughably wrong about Cam Newton going back before the draft.

IIRC he seemed to write an artilce about why Auburn would lose every other week.

And the article itself contains laughable errors, especially for someone who values stats as much as Joyner profresses.

Cleveland Browns: The Browns' offense has played it very close to the vest play calling-wise the past couple of seasons, but a lot of that has to do with having dink-and-dunk master Colt McCoy under center. Head coach Pat Shurmur has a long history of working with aggressive pass offenses, and when that is added to the rumors that the Browns are looking to upgrade at wide receiver, Cleveland could be a great situation for Griffin.
No KC.

Shurmur actually decreased Colt McCoy's YPA from 7.10 before Shurmur to 5.90 with Shurmur.

Which ironically matches the great Sam Bradford's YPA when Shurmur was the Rams OC last year: 5.95

KC Joyner needs to get called out for his spurious football babble.

And I like Robert Griffin and hope my team the Redskins drafts him.

But arm strength, size, strength, running ability, poise Cam has RGIII beat in all those areas.

Not to mention that KC doesn't even mention that part of Cam's success in the passing game stems from the threat/pressure he puts on the defense.
