I don't understand why anyone thinks management wouldn't craft or TD wouldn't accept a reasonable re-structuring of his contract considering his injury troubles.....

davis knows he's going to have to restructure because he even realizes it's highly unlikely he'll end up starting all the games like he used to. the best he can contribute at this point is in a minor rotational role (or special teams). the panthers can't count on him to make a return to a starting position because they're just going to get burned again
