Coples can play DT

He's the best pass rusher in the draft if he feels like it. Yes are motor questions, but if its me, I'm taking the best guy for the job. I want that guy that CAN be the best, and I trust our coaching staff.

All that said, I think hes gone before we pick.

Personally, I want the guy with slightly less talent but wants to be the best and doesn't try to just get by on talent alone.

Well, you can have him. I want the best player, and to be honest, I refuse to get caught up into character concerns. I'm sick of it personally. "I don't know how much this guy wants it", take it literally, you really DON'T know.

Thats why there are interviews and individual work outs. Like I said, I think hes going before we pick, and its WAY to early to get too deep into these kinds of discussions. WAY early.

Risk versus reward. Coples comes with a high risk because he has a history of comletely disappearing for long stretches at a time. It's good to take high risk players every now and then, but if you do it too often, you turn in to the Raiders. We need a player that we know is going to come in and work his ass off and show up game in and game out.

a lot of people seem to disappear when being doubled while playing a new position. he is one of the only sure playmakers on defense, and if he is there at our pick i know this FO will take a long hard look at him.

the guy had 2 less TFL and didnt have as many sacks as he had his junior but yet produced decent numbers while playing in different position.

Hardy played DT in college too and in the pros. Don't feel like a natural DE can play DT well. At least I don't see it happening. I rather they acquire a heavy 300+ pound gap stuffer from the draft or via FA.

Hardy doesn't have much strength or the body to play DT in the pros...................

Well that will be for the coaches and scouts to evaluate.Motor and drive are important factors as we have seen in most of the top 10 draft busts in recent

history.I have no idea where he will be picked but it appears he will be a top 10 pick.

lmao @ this thread being repeated

"disappearing on the field for long periods of time"

Ummm, No.

The people that have questions, have asked them all they want and shown over and over that there are no satisfactory answers to "motor" and "desire" questions that they have. If he falls to the Panthers in the draft I hope he is taken by us. I don't have any doubts at this point. I don't think many people actually do, even those that are attempting to proved to the world that they have a clue what they are talking about.

I'm pretty sure that he will not fall out of the top 5 though so this convo is likely in vain everybody.

I think he'll fall out of the top 5 (who's gonna take him? Certainly not the Colts, #2 is too high and the Rams already have two young decent/high potential DEs (one of which is was a Tarheel), Vikings got bigger problems than DE, same for the Browns, and the Bucs are probably the least likely team to draft him in the league) but I'd be a little surprised if he lasted past the Jaguars (but not incredibly surprised). If we take him I wouldn't be upset, but I'd still prefer Brockers at this point.
