He said it was his momentum:

"Eli was telling me to go down,” Bradshaw said, via Brendan Prunty of the Newark Star-Ledger. “He was saying, ‘Don’t score! Don’t score!’ I grabbed the ball and it really didn’t click at the 1-yard line, so I tried to put myself down. But my momentum just took me in."

I can go with the "momentum" and shocked it was so wide open, but it also looks like he could have gotten down.

Yeah definitely didn't do that on purpose, don't know how one would think of that. Patriots were smart in what they did and it took Bradshaw by surprise and couldn't stop himself. Should have extended the ball the opposite way hah.

It looks to me that he DEFINITELY did it on purpose. If you look he had started stopping his momentum at around the 3/4 yard line. He was in the perfect position to do a QB slide type of move before he reached the goal line. He had more than enough time from my eyes to stop his momentum. I think he just had the thought "how often do you get a chance to score a GW TD" for that split second...and tossed his ass in lol. (and I just reviewed the play 10 times so I'm not just BS'ing)

I honestly don't think it was momentum, and no, I don't think it was because of selfishness in wanting to score a super bowl TD. Who the f***wants a touchdown? Players want the win.

If he went down at the one-yard line, they run down the clock, and the kicker misses the field goal, Bradshaw would never be able to forgive himself for giving up a free score. I think he was just unsure whether or not to go down and at the last second just decided to go ahead and score.

it would've been much smarter to let them score a minute earlier so brady could have more time to get downfield but, hey, you know, beligenius always makes the right decisions in crunch time

Well yeah it would have been but it would have been easier to spot what NE was doing and NY could react.

It looked very obvious to me it was unintentional. Didn't realize he didn't have to go full steam for a couple yards. He OBVIOUSLY tried to stop himself, even turned around, but momentum carried him backwards over the goal line.
