Charges dismissed against Dre Kirkpatrick

Mr. Scot

Recommended Posts

Violent crimes or major felonies, I'd absolutely drop those guys from the draft board.

Other stuff is a judgment call. Team has to decide whether a guy just did something dumb or is dumb.

Worth remembering we spent a draft pick last year on a guy with DUI on his record. Not a first rounder, mind you, but a draft pick. When he came aboard, he was plainly told if he screws up again, it's his ass.

they should just legalize said harmless plant and this would all be a trivial debate to start with.. then we could focus on the real issues like drinking and driving, or murdering people, and various major felonies..

Like I said, we had this debate already

If we pick him or don't pick him, I won't scream either way. It's the team's job to check on him.

the only caution flag this throws up to me is that it mean's he's pre-disposed to hanging out with the wrong people at the wrong place at the wrong time.

i wouldn't draft him at the 8/9 spot, but it has more to do with me thinking he's the 3rd best CB in the draft behind caliborne and jenkins.

i will say that i'm not crazy about drafting someone with questionable judgement in the top 10. rather have that than someone with a questionable work ethic, though.

We had this debate already.

Doesn't matter one bit what you think of the laws. Breaking them has consequences.

Fair or not, breaking them when you've got everything in the world to lose makes people question your judgment and intelligence.

The debate about Kirkpatrick is framed in those terms.

Yea exactly. So why is it now that the law says he is clean that you guys are attacking him still for "being in the situation"?

....

He's black and he is proud of who he is, its not his fault the socio-economic model has kept most of his friends down and he chose to be true to himself and remain friends with them. Hell, so you're saying we shouldnt have drafted Cam because of his shady Dad? Nice logic.

ummmm...race isn't an issue to me. i couldn't care less about it.

quit thinking i'm making it an issue or care about it. didn't mention cam's dad. that wasn't an issue to me either.

take that crap to the tinderbox. i'm not going to get sucked into that pathetic conversation.

fwiw, i think your response was far more racist and demeaning than anything i could have intimated, but consider this my last response to this discussion.

i'm not interested in it at all.
