When does FA start?

march 13. that's when trades open up as well. official start to the NFL 2012 season.

combine starts feb 22.

draft starts april 26.

Can teams start renegotiating/restructuring with their own players immediately? I can never remember..Also can teams start cutting players right away?

I'm just thankful we've got a regular and full off season this year.

the thing that was rough going into last offseason was lack of uncertainty re: coaching staff, the QB situation, and of course the CBA.

not having to worry about any of those things makes the offseason 100% better.

I'll be okay for a while as I get wrapped up in all the other parts of my life (which, admittedly, I might be guilty of neglecting to some small degree during the season). But usually come May I start getting the itch again, and I can't wait to hear the guys are heading out to Camp. Because that will mean kickoff is just around the corner. I expect to see big things in 2012!

A little offseason news rolling in.

Steelers have hired Todd Haley as their new OC, replacing the departed Bruce Arians. There had already been some speculation this might happen.

And this from our "You had to blind not to see this coming" department: The Pats have given their OC job back to Josh McDaniels.

That'll free up more Pat fans to make Bill O'Brien the scapegoat for yesterday's loss (something many were already doing anyway).

Rams are reportedly looking at hiring George Paton as their GM.

To me, the offseason doesn't start until mid-May, as there is plenty going on between now and then to keep interest.

The period from May until the start of training camp is true dead time. I absolutely hate it.
