So which type of team would you guys prefer? One where the QB controls the entire team like the Colts and Pats or a team where it's a complete team effort and the QB is simply part of it, like the Giants and Green-Bay.

What are you using to say Brady controls the Pats but Rodgers doesn't control the Packers?

 pats won 11 games with matt cassel @ QB.

tom brady helps, but he's not the reason they are/have been so good. it's the system and brady just happens to be about the perfect fit for it.

lol @ Brady controlling the Patriots entire team and the Patriots not having a complete team effort. Ever hear of the "Patriot Way"? Probably the most unified team in the NFL for the last decade.

Last night proved one thing, defensive line pressure can beat a good offense. Draft DE early and often. My hats off to Tuck, Umenyiora, Pierre-Paul, Canty, Bernard, and Kiwanuka, solid DL + pressure = greater than any Revis & Asomugah.

You forgot the East Carolina product, Linval Joseph. I was at ECU while he was a player there and he and CJ WIlson(DE Green BAY) were great together, albeit was CUSA, never thought either would win a Super Bowl and they both have now.

Hats off too The Purple and Gold chuggers.

The way the Pats build their team is what I want. The D was down for them this year, but that's what happens when you try and build a team with balance. Some years that balance might be off a little. With a QB like Brady you can mask it a little.

Their "team building" isn't what it used to be. They still hiton draft picks, but if I recall correctly all the players from one of their drafts a few years back were gone from the team in a fairly short spn (I'd have to look it up).

They lived off of a weak division, favorable scheduling and "mystique" for a long time. This year was no exception. Had they not been able to walk through a weak schedule (not one opponent with a winning record) to home field advantage this past year, I doubt they'd even have made it to the Super Bowl. Heck till this year they'd been playoff doormats since 2007.

And let's be honest. While they did enough to win, Brady's AFC championship performance wasn't exactly Hall of Fame worthy.

The Patriots aren't "The Patriots" anymore, and I think the rest of the league knows it.

yeah, i do think that the pats are on the downside of their "dynasty" and feel like this was the last time we'll see the pats w/ brady and belicheat back in the superbowl.

this past year they mainly benefited from a very weak AFC. no one really looked spectacular in that conference this year.

the NFC has won the last 3 superbowls for a reason. they have the most talented teams.

The Pats, Steelers, Chargers, Colts, and Ravens have been really good over the past 7 or so years, and hence are always drafting at the back of the draft. After a while, that starts to take effect.

Those teams are aging, and hence, don't seem to be as dominant as they once were.

Someone else said - and I agree - that getting back again won't be so easy.

Granted their division is still weak, but you've got the Steelers, Ravens, now the Texans and (maybe) the Bengals, along with other AFC teams that could well look a lot better in year to come.

It is possible this could have been their last hurrah.
