Madonna is the biggest selling female artist of all time. Beatles, Elvis, Michael, Madonna. They're in the same ballpark.

I'm just saying it's strange to me that there are people who are completely unfamiliar. She's probably more out of the zeitgeist than the other 3 in that list because she's the only one still active and peddling lousy new stuff so it ruins the legacy.

I don't think I've ever heard a Beatles or Elvis song either. I would say there are plenty around my age and younger who are the same. That isn't the music we grew up with so unless our parents played it we have no exposure to it.

Just because some people don't like old music doesn't mean that new music sucks. You like what you are used to. People get set in their ways.

yeah, yeah, the % has grown between good and bad, the good % has stayed the same, but bad is all over the place. It so easy for a band/artist to get their music out now. I still say if more people listen to older music, might not like Bieber (whoever) so much.

that goes for most genre's now a days... but I agree there is an aspect of one genre ruining it for the rest to give those who want to be biased enough ammunition to at least sound coherent, regardless of how little truth exists in their opinion overall... that genre is split into 2 factions though... don't be mistaken.

Saw him here in Charlotte a few months back... wasn't a half bad show, and he put someone in their place when he asked for a moment of silence for someone and a guy yelled out to him during it.

I like the rock bands better for the half time shows, they play live and don't dance around so much that they need to lip sync.

I liked the halftime show over all though.

I missed the flipping off part as I was getting a drink.

If you take "rock" music as it was originally called, you'll see it's more "country" now, and country as it was isn't even around anymore. It all changes, but their are good and bad things in Music, and there are a lot of "bad" out there at the moment... tho, there are a lot of "entertainers" out there. (IMHO)

you can rest assured he won't need to lip sync, nor will many other artists I'd rather see.. that is more of an assumption that should be geared towards singers than rappers.

speaking of country, it's a funny thing to hear someone swear they hate rap but will love a country song that raps.. there's something extremely telling about that example.

but as to your last point, I agree.. music changes. It's a shame people's bias reflects that truth as well, rather clearly too..
