What the hell is Goodell thinking?

I dont see what the problem is with Vegas. If you can be "bought" in Vegas chances are you can be bought in Miami too

Agreed but I just think it is a bit to close for comfort and none of the leagues want any direct connection to the gambling image. All about image and integrity. I also think Vegas as a TV market wouldn't be that attractive.

I know David Stern was considering an NBA team there awhile back but said he would only consider it if Vegas outlawed betting on the NBA or at least any Las Vegas team game.

I was just looking up the top TV markets. And the highest ones without an NFL team:

19) Orlando (don't see it, the only FLA team that is selling tickets is Miami, and I think they have trouble as well)

20) Sacramento (we have enough Cali teams, 1 more in LA)

22) Portland,OR (interesting...)

skipping the ones that won't happen such as Raleigh & another Ohio team.

35) Milwaukee (interesting in that its a bigger market than Green Bay. Good sports state, but I think they'll let have Green Bay have Wisconsin by themselves

37) San Antonio (3rd Texas team...maybe. Its big enough)

40) Birmingham (Definitely a football state. Probably a long shot, but its interesting)

42) Las Vegas (intriguing)

72) Honolulu (probably not)

unlisted- Toronto (I think its a great idea. Alot of potential here.)

And if you had LA on that list I would imagine it would have to be the #2 market in the US only behind NY. Waaaaaay too much money to be made for the NFL not to be there. Surprised it has taken this long but I think that has more to do with LA (stadium construction issues) and not the NFL.
