Ehh I probably wouldn't have said anything if it was just the "kid" line. I guess it's the "son" part that got me. Just a pet peeve of mine that I find disrespectful and insulting. It's the same to me as calling a grown-ass man (especially if they're black) a "boy".

Kid and Son are nowhere near "racist" remarks. They may be somewhat insulting....but it has to do with age and maturity, not race.

kid isn't mildly racist. Cam is a year out of school. Kids a year out of school in hundreds of professions get the "kid" stamp put on them.

Son is a derogatory term, and was in fact used in the past by some folks in the south referencing grown black men...to keep them in there place...now do I believe the OP had that intention, no, not at all...but some people are fairly sensitive about the connotation...now that that's cleared up

..of course if Adam reads it it might take two entire shows. They guy cannot quote anything without desperately trying to spin it this way or that. Takes him forever to convey a simple point. Once I realized (two shows in) he had nothing to say or at least nothing worth hearing, I stopped struggling with his run-on, tangent-riddled, wolpfack-addled bore fest of a program.

Well, the reality is, racism will continue to exist for as long as one race continues to dominate and dictate the mindset of a society of many races. It is simply what it is.

But, U're right about the term "kid" and "son."

I do believe the word "boy" was the one that was used in a condescending way against blacks, especially in the South..But not so much "kid" and "son." Those were just terms used on any young man by adults back in time. It's no different than Cam's using the term "yes sir" when responding to adults. There is nothing really racist about it because it's a term used by all Southeners not just blacks.
