person did one...

josephperson Spoke to Cam Newton. He took ownership for poor Pro Bowl showing. Said offseason focus will be cutting down turnovers. Will post story soon.

josephperson Cam Newton says he failed himself and the fans at the Pro Bowl. http://t.co/NxKIoLUB

doesn't sound like a one on one interview.

Mac is a diehard Ravens fan

Taylor is a diehard Bronco fan

James is a diehard Raider fan

QCB is a punk ass Cowboy fan

DJ the Suit is a Giants fan

Tony is a diehard Bears fan

Celania, Garcia, and J Weezy are the only Panther fans at WFNZ.

I wouldn't interview with the local scrubs either.

Who cares who the hosts root for though? It doesn't and hasn't stopped Steve Smith, Jon Beason, James Anderson, Jordan Gross, Greg Olsen, etc. from going on from time to time.

I remember one of the douches from the drive was at the draft when Cam was chosen and managed to get an interview with him...the first words out of his mouth were "Cam Newton, congratulations. I'm going to go ahead and tell you I didn't want you to be the pick." Fantastic. Cam's first interview as a Panther and he decides to start the interview with that crap. I wouldn't be surprised if Cam never does an interview with them.

I think everyone is aware that Cam is in Indy for obligations; but, it would not hurt to do an interview with on or two with local TV stations in the Carolinas on his return.

We are the people who buy tickets and I think we would like to hear what he has to say.

I know I would.

One week if that, he's selling the Superbowl, the NFL, Gatorade, himself and in the long run the Carolina Panthers. He will still be the Carolina's more time than not, plenty of time for local interviews.

Its pretty amazing that he hasn't interview locally. Even if you dont care for WFNZ it should have already happened there, they actually represent Joe fan. I'll be surprised if this one horse two tumbleweed town will actually be able to keep him....

New England wasn't poo before brady. Indy wasn't poo before Manning. I wouldn't worry too much about it. He'll be a lifer for the Panthers, probably getting two $100MM+ contracts like Vick. And he'll be worth every penny. There is no doubt in my mind that Cam will be the face of the NFL very soon. So don't be surprised when you see a lot of new Panthers fans walking around.

    • First on T-Mac, I 100% expect him to be the top WR from this class, however I think expecting him to put up 1k+ as a rookie isn't necessarily fair, especially since you're putting it in perspective of how many other rookie WRs have done that in recent years. And Thielen is the reason for that. Not many (if any) of those 1k+ rookies had someone like Thielen there when they were drafted, and no matter how good T-Mac is this year, Bryce is still going to lean on his existing chemistry with Thielen unless he's drastically lost a step this offseason and just can't get open like he's been able to in his career. As I pointed out in another thread the other day, looking at MHJ last year is the way to look at T-Mac's season if Thielen plays a full and healthy season.  MHJ had McBride "steal" 110+ catches and 1,100+ yards in what was a pass happy offense (Kyler was 9th in the league in attempts), it's going to be hard for any rookie to put up more than the 800ish yards he had last year in that scenario.  Especially if we follow a similar game plan to last year and be a run heavy team. In terms of XL, you're completely right, jumping up to get a project 2/3 isn't smart, and if we knew we needed a future slot from that pick, yes, Ladd would have been a much better pick. But at this point, those are all sunk costs, even taking T-Mac at 8 is now considered a sunk cost. Forgetting the past or who we maybe should have taken last year now knowing future roles, I still think T-Mac, XL, Coker can be one of the Top 1-3 WR rooms in the NFL in a few years, I honestly think they really do have that potential in them.
