How bad ass is this?

The fear this organization has of doing something all the way is just pathetic. It takes this organization so long to adapt and learn, it's just pathetic.

We have a QB that transcends the game. He isn't only a sports icon, he's a pop culture star. Owners of sports franchises around the world pray for this kind of opportunity. To obtain a superstar that can absolutely explode their franchises popularity and put them on the map in an extraordinary way. We have an opportunity to experience a Manning To Colts or Vick to Falcons type fanbase explosion, but we have to forge a new identity, and we're pissing that opportunity down the drain because this team has always been too scared to do something all the way.

Got news for the team: we aren't ever going to be the Steelers, or the Packers, or the Bears. Keeping an outdated item because you hope that people will magically start viewing it as "vintage" rather than "90's" isn't going to make us a "historical" team. We aren't one, and we need to stop pretending like we are. Stop trying to be like te Steelers. Start being the Panthers.

What exactly is it you want the team to do?

btw my condolences on the tat..

but at least you are keepin it real lol

Thanks, no worries.. Soon it'll be the "throwback" logo, which is fine, I was a fan long before the new changes were being thought of... It could be worse, if I was a fan of a different team I could have that gheyass Pat the Patriot on my leg... Forever...

 By whose standards? I haven't seen any polls to suggest that ours is the best. Don't get me wrong, I like our uni's. But an upgrade would definitely be in order and would signal a new era in Carolina Panthers football.

Besides, I'm not sure trying to incorporate a new logo onto retro uniforms would make much marketing sense, let alone how tacky it would look.

    • There will be times you think the pass is going to go way over his head or wide and he'll have no chance to get there and then he'll just do his Inspector Gadget thing and use his go go gadget arms to extend out there to pluck the ball out of nowhere
    • Tmac has elite hands..  and elite body control.   Argue against those things all you want, I'll just ignore the bullshit as usual.
    • Yep, even if you put aside any discussion about what you think about him as a player or how good he'll be, the one thing that is a 100% certainty is that he's going to make some plays that just drop your jaw and question how he did what we just saw. This is interesting as it was something I'd never even thought/heard of until he was walking on stage after we took him.  One of the analysts on NFL Network brought it up saying something like, "I don't agree with this idea, but I know a lot of college coaches tell the star WRs to purposefully take plays off when they know it's not coming to them" It was interesting because the way he said it, almost sounded like he's heard that it was something the Arizona coaches would tell T-Mac to do.  Which on a team like ours last year, actually makes a ton of sense, because we had NOBODY else who the defense had to worry about.  So instead of taking him off the field to give him a breather, just throw him out there on the far side of the field as a dummy to keep the defense's attention and then run a play in the other direction. You're right, he isn't "as quick" as Evans, because he's quicker.  Sure, Evans does use his body better than T-Mac does, but T-Mac is a better athlete with more wiggle to his game and better at making a defender miss whereas Evans is just more likely to run through you. And your edit here is basically just an add on to my above comment, as personally, I've used the AJ Green comp for him ever since his first game for us at Arizona, it was always who I saw in his game.  He has that fluidity that Green had to him, and at their size it stands out. Actually saw another comp last night that I hadn't seen before, and while I'll admit it's been YEARS since I've seen any film of him, my immediate reaction was, "oh wow, that might be a real solid comp for style of play" And that was of Plaxico Burress. I'd like to see T-Mac have a better overall career than Plax had (especially off the field), but from what I remember about his game, the comp for body/style of play actually seems pretty solid
