Let's talk about Mario Williams

As you all know Mario Williams is a free agent, but what many of you might think is that he is a lock to go back to Houston. It turns out Williams might not be giving the home town discount that most expected.

One of the biggest issues Houston faces this offseason will be the challenge of re-signing two of their star players: running back Arian Foster and defensive stud Mario Williams. Both have been key cogs in the Texans' transformation. Foster is coming off his second consecutive Pro Bowl season and Williams—even though he went down toward the beginning of the season with a torn pectoral—is one of the most feared players on defense.

The main goal for the Texans will be to not only accomplish re-signing both of these players but also in staying under the cap, which is something they aren't currently. Williams made $18 million this past season and will definitely be looking for just as much if not more this offseason. Because Williams is an unrestricted free agent, the cash-strapped Texans will have to hope for a 'hometown discount.'

With the amount of money Williams may be able to make outside of Houston, and the shackles the Texans have with the salary cap, it is unlikely that Williams will be playing his home games at Reliant Stadium next year. It will be an end to a great run, but as they say all good things must come to an end.

Would you be against making a huge move and obtaining Super Mario?

The only chance we have of Mario coming here is if he just really wants to come to back NC and would be willing to give a major discount to make it happen. There might be a 1 in 10 chance of that happening if the team was located in Raleigh, seeing as he already has a home in the area, but with the team still being 3 hours away the chance probably jumps to more like 1 in 100.

    • He might not be able to tie his shoes standing up like a freak NBA player, but he looks long on the field.
    • Ugh, I didn't even realize until today that they only versions they have for T-Mac right now are the ones where everything is heat pressed on, not the "fake stitched" versions you guys are talking about here. I've always hated those fully screen pressed ones, they just seem cheat and crappy to me, and even though that next step up is still not the best, they at least feel like more of a real jersey to me and is worth the extra 35 bucks to get them. But of course they don't sell them in that one yet, which is weird, if they're all still "pre-orders" anyways, why aren't they offering the more expensive version to steal even more money from the rubes out there like myself who just can't help themselves?!?!?
    • If you think Smith's hating on McMillian or tall recievers you didn't watch the video. He may have been guilty of that in the past but he says outright that his problem is people see a tall reciever and tend to overlook everything else about him. He was complimentary and believes the guy will pan out. His only real criticism was comparing Tetairoa to himself actually, saying like he felt like he took plays off when he wasn't the primary target.  EDIT: The AJ Green comp they made is way better than Evans. Small finesse reciever in a tall frame.
