David Aldridge: Gerald Wallce is the next to go

I'd say Crash and Felton are as good as gone. Brown with a fire sale in order to try and get some of his guys. I guss it really doesnt matter because the Bobcats suck but if they were to have gotten a top 3 pick this year they could have really made some moves this summer. I imagine he is trying to make this club into Detroit south...no star players but a damn good TEAM.

We were on pace to only win 25-30 games this year which would have set us back two straight years after getting better our first three. Cleaning house is not a bad idea. Yes, things could get even worse but I think we were past the point of fine tweaks here and there.

I have a hard time with change sometimes but I am all for taking a few risks at this point.

i dont know if i would call this a fire sale, more of a donation to the salvation army. the team is awful and pretty much everyplayer needs to hit the road (except Dj). im glad were doing what were doing and lets face it, it's the reason we brought larry brown in here in the first place. he's gonna blow up our sand castle and build us a house with a solid foundation.

Maybe...but we could just as easily end up as the Knicks as Detroit. I guess I'm spoiled by being a former huge Hornets fan when they were in Charlotte. Bob Bass was a hell of a poker player. Even when he had to trade Mourning, LJ, and Jones, the team always got talent back. Since I've followed the Cats all trades have been lopsided in favor of the other team, exept for the Okafor trade. I agree that the Bobcats are a failure so far and that change is needed. I think the teams failures so far can be blamed on horrible drafting. Could of had Roy or Gay, could of traded 5/13 for CP3, could of tempted the Magic with some picks or players for the #1 overall pick that year and taken Howard over Oak.

Im not sure where you are going with any of this. Honestly maybe i missed something. Okafor trade? We drafted him. Weren't we in our first year when we drafted Oak? So how would we have thrown stuff at the magic for Howard. Anyway i dont mind Brown clearing house with the way things have been going but he better not bail out on us. If he sticks around he can make this team special if not we have just been set back a few more years.

I can understand why the Bobcats stoop pat at 5 and 13 (when they needed bodies) because there was no evidence that Paul was going to be as good as he has been...I think DW, RF and CP were all rated close with CP and DW considered marginally better.

I actually agree with you. At the time we needed a pg and a big man. May was always healthy in college and looked like he could do pretty good in the NBA. You never know in the NBA if guys are gonna pan out so there is no point on bitching about past picks. I never really felt Raymond would be very good in the NBA but i guess he was the best option at the point for us. Dont remember all the point guards in that draft but at 5 i think he was the best.

The Bobcats traded the 4th pick for the 2nd pick in that draft, which ended up being Okafor. So, yeah the Bobcats traded up for Okafor. The Magic were flip flopping between taking Oak or Howard so the Cats could have traded the 2nd pick with some players or picks for that #1 pick.

I dont mind the Cats clearing house either but it'd be nice for them to have an exiting player in return. It pisses me off that the Bobcats have wiffed on so many players. My fantasy bobcats would be, and yes, I know if we got anyone of these guys we wouldnt be in position to draft the "guy" the next draft but for fun the lineup could have been:

Dwight Howard

--signed PF--

Crash

Roy

CP3

That lineup would seel alot of tickets and win alot of games.

May wasnt healthy at all in college. He had knee and weight problems the first 2 years at Carolina. He lost some weight and got in shape, thanks to Roy Williams, which allowed him to have a very good championship year. May has a ton of skills but zero work ethic and that should have been a huge red flag. Think Derrick Coleman light.

Felton was ranked as the 3rd PG prospect in that draft on everyones board. There was debate between Paul and Williams on which would be the best PG, but Felton was always ranked behind those 2 guys.

I agree that Felton had to be the pick at 5 being the chips fell like they did. I. howerver, thought he would be a better pro than he has turned out to be. I always knew Williams and Paul would be better than Felton but not by this much.

    • Kraven has awful shitty comic book movie vibes all over it. It's just more of whatever studio owns the rights to the Spiderman set, but no longer actually has Spiderman anymore. Wicked is probably no more enjoyable. 3 hour long musicals are tough to endure.
    • One of those guys who throws a pass that makes you yell "OMG" then immediately follows it with one that makes you go "WTF" 😳 Essentially the Brett Favre prototype...
    • The Giants games are an interesting comparison for sure. We could compare the Chiefs vs the Bucs as well, since at least both teams are largely the same as they are now, rather than the Giants whose coach lost his mind after losing to us. 30-24 KC in overtime. Hunt had 106 yards and Mahomes had 291. Baker threw for 200 yards, but 2 TDs. Their leading rusher had 25 yards or something. Our offense outperformed what the Bucs did vs KC, but being a division game we won't have the benefit of being overlooked. If our D plays how it did in the 4th quarter I think we can get some stops.  Can Bryce carry a second game? I'd rather not find out and have Chuba carry the load, but we'll see.
