If you guys want an affordable deep threat WR that can start

one thing to consider, and that has been said in a couple other threads, is that since the draft class is so deep and talented this year (i've heard comments that there might be a record number of WRs getting drafted this year) so there might be more expensive WRs hitting the market as cap casualties so the FA WR class might be better than it is right now.

since there the market will be flooded, the price of FAs will be pretty low.

if we are looking for a stop gap or someone to just compete for a starting gig i think we won't have to give up too much or reach too early.

i'm just not worried about WR right now. there will be plenty of solid choices available that we won't have to sacrifice addressing a more urgent need earlier.

why is he not an upgrade over Gettis coming off an acl injury?

Gettis should be fine this year. If he had gotten hurt in November or December then 6-8 months is pushing a rehab. But given it happened in July, he will have a full year to recover. Many guys who rehab heavily for a full year actually come back stronger and in better shape than before. Of course with Davis having so many issues with an ACL I can see why people would be skeptical of Gettis' return. Still for most players, ACLs heal pretty well.

I agree with those who say if he is reasonable, NO will resign him and he will want to play there. We get him only if we pay more than NO will. Not sure we have the money and if we did, I am not sure I would spent on him. He isn't an upgrade over Gettis.

not if they have zero interest in retaining him
