College student transitioning into the real world rant

of the day.

Why are there no ***** jobs, especially for those of us with a Liberal Arts degree? If I get one more call from a HR recruiter saying they found my resume on Monster, Indeed, Careerbuilder, etc. and they think I'd be the perfect match for their commission-based position selling spa packages... I'm goin gorillas on somebody.

How the fk am I supposed to get experience in a particular field when it seems that even entry-level jobs want you to have experience? I know a lot of students do internships, but I never did. That doesn't mean I'm not qualified. I spent my time doing other things like Division 1 athletics, studying abroad and working two part-time jobs to help pay some bills. I just ask that you consider those things, in lieu of a formal internship, and recognize the unique perspective each of my own activities may have given me, and how that might help you and your company. The sad thing is you'll probably never even see my application because your automatic resume screener will pay no attention to those things and disqualify me as a candidate for the menial position you have available.

Intended this to be a parody... but that was actually kinda theraputic.

So there are jobs but not ones you'll take...

Go pay your dues like the rest of us did.

And get off of my yard!

    • This.  Honest introspection on his behalf would have seen that size and strength were his biggest weaknesses. He looks no different. With the programs in the NFL, he could have come back to camp 10 lbs of muscle heavier. Easily. If had done so, it would have been reported on. It would have been the hottest story…. But we never saw anything of the sort, so it probably never happened.  He showed improvement this last game, likely from Andy’s tutelage. He has to show something VERY special to close the season out to change my thinking on him… like 4 game winning streak with a clutch 4th quarter comeback. Then maybe.
    • It absolutely is on him for doing it and I'd wager he used a good bit of that psychology major to help him through interviews because he could read people better than most. The Panthers should have recognized it for what it was, hell, we all did, but you can't absolve him just because everyone else does it.    38 Million guaranteed.
    • No Ikem vs the best pass rushing team in the NFL?  With no pocket for Bryce to step in to because of arguably the best interior DL in the NFL, Dexter Lawrence? Giants win comfortably IMO.  Look at how hype the Panthers were to win last week.  That was enough for them. The Panthers have struggled against mobile QBs this year too.  Guys who can extend the play.  Bo Nix, Marcus Mariota, Caleb Williams.  Panthers have struggled against all QBs this year to be honest, but those guys in particular did the best statistically.  Expect a big game from Danny Dimes, Nabers, and Tyrone.
