This has been happening for quite a while around the world. The Wilmington area has actually had loud booms heard off the coast for a few hundred years so the one here wasn't really surprising, it's the others that are odd. There's been all kinds of strange sound phenomenon over the last few years.

I can't speak for "booms" elsewhere, but those booms here in Wilmington have been going on for years and years. I doubt it's related to this news video.

Some of that video is from in and around the philly area. Strange booms are heard all the time from methane gas coming from all the sewage and excessive amounts of Geno's cheesteaks.

I love Philly but lets face it, they are not going to be making the Top 100 healthiest US cities list anytime soon.

It just so freaking loud and there is no explanation to it what so ever. Someone said its due mass radiation going through the atmosphere, that's bullshit. Radiation will not cause wind and earth vibrations nor sound. This sound was so loud u could hear it from Kiev to St. Petersburg... That's a very long distance.
