What do you think about animal testing.

Just watching Brian Williams and the story is about animal testing. Specifically testing on chimps because they share 98% or of our DNA. Where do you fall on the issue, Is animal testing ok because it helps humans or do you think it's the worng pathway. Let us know why

I feel better about myself when I buy stuff that says "not tested on animals" but for the most part I don't think about it.

Agree with Inmicus... Should try to avoid it when possible (computer simulations, etc.) and make it as non-intrusive and painless as possible, but it is necessary.

I'm a lot less keen on the idea of animal testing for things like cosmetics but when it comes to pharmacological research and toxicity testing Ill trade thousands of bunnies and rats if it means we save just 1 person.

Beyond that Id trade a million more if it meant we found a cure for things like cancer, MS, MD, Alzheimers, etc.
