Why do you people consider this guy a good QB? He only completes 59% of his passes and has a 1-to-1 TD/INT ratio. That's not elite! Forget yards! The NFL changed the rules so every garbage QB can throw for big yards now.

I think he is an incredible talent, but, in this game on Sunday he ws abysmal for most of it and that is a fact and in this meaningless game, it exposed all those things that the Panthers' offense built around him hides.

how did the panthers offense hide him, exactly? it certainly looked like a wide open pro offense to me.

what could the pro bowl have "exposed" about cam newton that 16 regular season games and whatever defensive coordinator game planning to stop him every week couldn't? his offensive line was playing at half-speed when the opposing defense most certainly was not and he was making terrible throws because he wasn't setting/couldn't set his feet. everybody knows his footwork needs work already.

What irks me is when people talk about him as if he's playing the game like a pro. I've watched the tape. Most of his plays are lucky chucks that gets big yardage via RAC. That's not NFL QBing. How many timing routes? Can Cam hit guys in stride? Is he faking out DBs? Checkers...real pro QBs play chess out there.

also nice stealth edit. so the argument has changed from "he cant make pro throws" to "all his yards come after the catch", otherwise known as "cam should be penalized for having good receivers on his team and knowing how to get it to them".

i mean are we supposed to be in a full scale panic if he's not aaron rodgers yet? that he's playing "checkers" and not "chess", even if just about every rookie quarterback plays "checkers" and later graduates to "chess" and newton just happens to be arguably the best "checkers" player yet seen?

Most of every QBs big yardage plays have receivers running after the catch. Especially Matt Ryan.

Also you ask if he can "hit guys in stride" when if he couldn't they wouldn't be getting much YAC would they?

clearly you didn't watch Newton this year.

also, Cam wasn't a big YAC guy. Yeah, Carolina had a lot of screens but his long pass throws were mainly yardage via the air......not YAC. Pretty sure he lead the NFL in long passes (air yardage) for the overwhelming majority of the season.

If you are going to trash talk at least be informed.

Also, the funniest thing is when people have to resort to comparing a rookie QB to the NFL greats in order to bash him. Yeah, he can't play the game like Brees yet.......yet you ignore the fact he shits all over what they were able to do at this stage.

Man I don't know. All the damn records he broke this season? People don't just come into the league, with no OTA's, no training camp, no time with new coach, and light up the league like he did. He broke records that have been standing for atleast 1 decade or more. So you're saying he couldnt be the next Rodgers or Brees or Manning?
