I wonder when will ESPN stop asking Cam about that bogus pay-for-play scandal that they pushed in order to hurt Auburn? They are so darn predictable.

They ignore all the real life scandal but sit and endlessly spin fake ones that more suit their agenda and isn't harming anyone of important in their eyes.

I wonder how aware would we have been at what was going on at PSU had ESPN reported that there was a sexual charge against Sandusky by the DA in 1998. U knew it had to make at least the local news because Jerry was/is prominent man in that area.

Although money never changed hands, Cam's father did pitch him to Mississippi State. That is a fact he has acknowledged and does not deny. So, while the core allegations were baloney, the initial feelers were sent out, and while I'm certain Cam had no clue about it, it still had to be tough to have so much scrutiny brought on because of some very real mistakes his father made.

Dammit..missed Cam, Aaron Rodgers was awesome though, such a chill, chill dude. Personally I'm glad the future of the NFL is comprised of these guys (Cam, Rodgers, etc..) interesting and funny...unlike the stock, stilted and boring Peyton Manning, Tom Brady archetypes we've had at the QB position.

If you think Peyton Manning and Tom brady are boring football players you must not know anything about football. two of the greatest of all time

Actually, Cam's father didn't have to "pitch" Cam to MSU. His father knew the sports coordinator, Dan Mullen (?), because was under Meyer while Cam was at UF. As a matter of fact, the agent stated that it was Cam's father who introduced him to Dan Mullen and the other coaches at a football game one night. He claimed he didn't know them before.

Why would a father who already had more inside connect with a school, turn to an outside agent who didn't have any real connection with the school except attending it, and ask him to hustle money for his kid to attend the school? Makes no sense. And, Auburn recruited Cam straight out of Blinn, so there was no need for an agent to go to Auburn.

IMO, this was nothing more than bitter school rivarly that got out of hand. I don't even follow college football and I was suspicious of the accusations as soon as I read some of the stories online.

ESPN thought they had real time Reggie Bush like scandal on their hands involving Auburn. When they realize they really didn't, instead of letting the story die, they realized that they had an audience who wanted to keep the story going regardless of it's truthfullness. And we all know ESPN does not shy away from pushing lies to generate an audience.

Pretty sure he was talking about their personalities not their play. Manning/Brady on the field = enthralling; in interviews and off the cuff stuff = paint dryingly boring.

Although with Brady, I think it has more to do with his coach than his actual personality. I mean he's gotta have, at least, a decent personality to land Gisele right?

Also, I bellieve guys like Peyton and Brady are very leary of the media. They give very generic or empty answers that cannot be spinned into some long drawn out story. Case in point, Peyton and his neck.

I watched Brady's SB interview today and although he was a bit boring. You can tell when he's not a mike, he's quite a character.

Dude, Cecil Newton told the NCAA he shopped Cam. Cecil. Not the media. He admitted it, because they had the emails and phone conversations to prove it. That's not the issue at dispute: the question was whether money changed hands, which obviously never did, because the entire discussion Cecil had with MS State basically was "Umm, would you guys pay this much? "No." "Okay."

The rest of it was hyperbole, but what Cecil did (which really was nothing more than ask) is based in admitted fact, not speculation.

Did ESPN blow the whole thing up? Hell yes. But, again, Cecil Newton deserves blame for his actions.

Who had the e-mail and phone conversation of Cecil asking for money?

And since when did "shopping" someone meant you were trying to get money for them? Maybe I'm getting old and meaning of words have changed, BUT....
