Peppers never mistreated the Panthers, I guess you can beg to differ how they are treating him by pulling power moves with the guy. I feel bad for him and people act like Peppers is a monster for not wanting to stick with a team he doesn't have confidence in any longer.

...this friggin' buc douche is making more sense than most of the panther fanz here on the huddle

Not wanting to stay here is one thing. However, the way he went about it is what I have issue with.

by the "way he want about it" do you mean fulfilling his contract completely after never giving the Panthers a single problem throughout his entire career prior to verbalizing that he feels its time to try something new or what?

I am confused about what you think he did wrong.

At the end of the season, his smirky quotes. Then airing his intentions in the media being prima donna on where he would or wouldn't play, saying he hadn't been able to reach his potential, etc. He made it harder of the Panthers to trade him by his antics.

He wanted out. I am sure that the Panthers did not first learn of this when he voiced it to the media. In light of what the comments actually ensnuated I am sure they could have been much worse if you think about it.

He made it harder on the Panthers by not signing his tender, nothing else. There were no antics. Telling him a number of teams was never seen by anyone as matter of fact. It was him telling the Panthers to let him walk or it was going to get ugly.

They made the final decision and tagged him in spite of knowing his full intentions and knowing that he was fully prepared to make it difficult if they did so.

This is not the fault of Julius Peppers. It's definitely not ALL his fault.

The poor poor Carolina Pathers just got their feelings hurt and did not have sense enough to walk away.

In actuality the most difficult thing that could have happened in the way of hurting Pepp's chance at a new contract for what he wanted is if the Panthers said "OK Pep, see ya" thereby sending a clear message to the league of what their opinion of his value, effectiveness, and heart really is for the game of football.

Right. Haynesworth really got told a lesson when the Titans let him walk. that 100 million dollar contract really showed him who's boss.

I'm sure if he went on to succeed somewhere else after your idea failed that you would be playing the role of contrarian again next offseason about how we should have played hardball and at least could have gotten something for him.

Exactly. I don't know why that's so hard for some people to understand.

Had he said that privately to the team, fine. Airing it publicly sux.

yiou think Peppers is as good as Haynesworth?

plus didn't you just give Moose as an example of someone who got paid and did not deserve it like it happens all the time?

so we were smart to let Moose walk TN was dumb to let Albert walk?

please straighten this one out Clown.

well the world is glad that you are so sure clown.

This is not an "idea" of mine. While I appreciate your generous appraisal of me this Clown is a very simple conclusion that an intelligent person has come to after mitigating the risk on each side. It's not an idea or theory or even a hypothesis.

It's what adds up to 4 when I add 2+2 in this scenario. I can't help it and I don't like it but it's what I would do and why. And yes, I may very well be wrong on all counts but it won't be the first or last time. Right now I look right as rain. I'm sorry if you don't like it. i don't particularly like it either but that is not the point and what i like has nothing to do with the situation at all. Neither does what you like.

Who says he did not start there? Looking over Peppers career I have to believe he did not take this straight to the media without giving the panthers a heads up.

If they did not play along, he may have felt he had no choice. I hate that he ever said anything. In actuality he could have gotten the same result if he kept quiet. It looks like it hurt him now. Personally I don't care if it did or not. he does not want to be a Panther so I just want him the hell out of here in spite of my love for UNC.

My wish is that they had cut him loose, and focused on what is here in stead of tying him down and showing what assholes we can be when our feelings get hurt. Now it's a pissing contest and everybody loses. I do not expect the player to be the bigger man but I expect the org. to and they simply were not.
