If Peppers doesnt sign prior to DRAFT..

He and Carey could bring the deal to the table as the team wanting to trade is on the clock... However, think of it as you being that team on the clock (especially with less time in each round now).. Would you risk missing out on your draft pick because the Panthers want to look over the terms of a trade?... You could potentially drop a few spots in the draft while you waited for us to accept...

If Peppers doesn't sign the tender by Draft Saturday morning, you can pretty much bet that he won't be traded during the draft.

Don't worry though, I'm hearing we'll be making a move into the first round (no, that doesn't really mean it will involve Pep)...

Just how the hell do you propose we move into the first round without something involving Peppers?

I wanted Pep to walk and stated as such, about 10,000 times in 1,000 different Peppers trade threads, because I'm really Carl Carey in disguise. yeah it looks foolish initially but how bad does it look now. And yes there is that old saying about hindsight but the elements that made not tagging him a simple decision were/are obvious and glaring.

The one that sticks out to me the most:

using the tag on Gross instead of locking up an undersized and average left tackle for 6 years when you are very close to having the best rushing attack in the league.

let pep walk..so what, tag gross, trade Gross after this season even if you have to use the tag again and get a young LT in the draft.

fixed.

He won't hold out if we force him to stay. Like I've been saying for weeks and months now, he'll just come down with another illness that will cause him to have a total of 1.5 sacks for the '09 season.

On another note, if someone can post a Youtube video of the midget known as Maurice Jones-Drew blocking Pep to the ground back in '07, I will send you $10 through Paypal.

this may not be exactly true but if anything remotely close to this happens I will not be surprised. I DO NOT see Julius having a productive 2009 season with the Carolina Panthers.

Well #1 that would screw the locker room up. The coaches are doing their jobs. They want their best defender on the field for them, so it's at a stalemate. One side will give before the draft. It won't be Hurney. Peppers knows he has to give a little before the draft. Otherwise this was all in vain. He threw a temper tantrum, basically shunned us as a team. And Hurney just smiled and says "Not so fast pal". Peppers screwed up. He's a very good player that wants to better himself on another team and told the world. If he holds out in 09 or plays bad for us in 09, he can flush his chances of the pay he wanted for the team he wanted. If he wants to leave, and if his agent is only half retarded, he'll sign the damn contract. This temper tantrum has got to stop, he's lowering himself as a player, and even more as a person.

Yup, Carolina is going to hold Peppers hostage like dumbasses. Its been clear he wants out, the last I knew... when a player bickers with the front office and does nothing but complain... they are typically cut/benched.

So with that said, if Peppers is signed (Carolina wants too high of compensation as Peppers isnt worth Jared Allen value)... wouldnt Peppers be pushed down the depth chart for questioning his coaching staff and FO?

Or will you guys just let Peppers bitch and complain like a little baby and try to call the shots, so you guys can keep him against his will?

Either way, this whole off-season has went against the Panthers favor and this coming year oughta be quite interesting.

There are a couple guys that if they are available at a certain position, we will give up future draft picks to go and get... That's all I'm saying...

price would probably be better this year than other year. most of the top 10 teams are trying to get out of it and will be bordering on desperation by the time the draft comes around. most likely will be a good bit of movement during the 1st round. it isn't unthinkable that we could get in on the action.
