these are the same guys that think Jake Delhomme is currently the long term answer at QB.
he has enough in him to last until we can find someone in the draft next year and get him carrying a clipboard for a year or two.

i have very little problem with that route....if he can pull it together this offseason and into next year.

I didn't interpret it as he is the long term ANSWER...he said he wants him in Carolina long term. Could be as starter for another year or two then a backup. If long term=2-3 years as a starter while they bring someone along (Moore, guy they draft in 2010, whatever), I think that's very reasonable myself.

some players i think they did well on that were not high choices are

godfrey 3rd

cj wilson 7th

charles johnson 3rd

jeff king 5th

hangartner 5th

jovan hayne 6th

dam seward 5th

michael gains 7th

wharton 3rd

some are no longer here but some were good talents. the best two of that group were 5th rounders. king and hangman.

Yes, I do because you can say what you want about Hurney, but he's built a pretty impressive draft resume. Colbert is the only high pick he's really missed on so far.

If you look at colberts rookie season I dont know if you can say that. i think Colberts problem was that he got lazy after his rookie year??

I think he got his $$$ and after that he didn't really take it seriously anymore. You see him laughing everytime he drops a pass rather than busting his ass to get better. Oh well, he'll retire a millionaire anyway

I think they have done much better in the draft than they have in free agency overall. They have made some pretty good picks on draft day and some VERY dumb moves outside of draft day.

I've said repeatedly that the pro scouting department needs the kind of revamp the college scouting department got a few years back (i.e. replacing Mark Koncz).

don gregory makes it better.

Bingo.

The improvement in drafting directly coincided with his arrival.
