I'd prefer DT first, then CB second. Fortunately if we miss out on a great corner, there's another great one behind him. DTs not so much. Personally I believe DT is a slightly bigger need.

There's perhaps two great corners in this draft. There's a few very good ones too.

There's no great DT, but a whole host of guys that are good-v.good.

Unless we're extremely unlucky we could take Jenkins and land a one of the very good DTs in the second round.

Take him at 8/9. Let Smitty humble him.

I'd pay money to watch those two go at it.

If Hogan is as good as advertised, having three excellent corners a) nullifies a lot of what other teams are trying to do and b) unleashes the front 7 to throw ridiculous looks at the QB.

I think we'll definitely get a CB in the first or second regardless. A very appealing crop of around 8 to choose from in my view.

A flex DE-OLB or OT would be my guess if we don't go CB in the 1st.

I'd personally prefer going after Garay or someone in the FA to match with Ron (so we know we'll be getting trench pressure) as our staff keeps trying to groom our current crop of new guns in Kearse, Shirley, Nebbles, McClain, and Fua who can rotate in and out and compete with each other.

How much money is Garay going to bring in FA? Can we afford him?

i don't think it will be much.

his last contract was 2 yrs / $1,270,000. he's 32 years old. the chargers were his 3rd team and he'd never started a game until 2010...which was actually pretty good. his 2011 season dropped in production a little, but he was still solid. rivera was the guy that got the most out of him and gave him a shot.

Sounds like exactly what we need, a vet to come in and allow our young guys to develop properly. I'd be very happy with bringing in Garay and drafting Brockers. Those 2 with Edwards would be a good group to rotate on. Fua, McClain, Kearse, and Nebs would all be competing for playing time which would ideally bring out the best in them. In this scenario, I'd like to grab a CB in the second round. Possibly Gilmore or Dennard (if he falls). And just like with the DT position, I'd still want to bring in a vet CB to compete with the young guys.
