Since we don't have a 3rd rounder this year and will be using the draft heavily, we can't afford to take a QB on a flier any sooner than the 6th or seventh round. Even then Hurney does some of his best work at the bottom of the draft. If we fill some needs in FA then maybe. Otherwise we should be able to pick a QB as an UDFA or cheap veteran. Wilson is not a bad player but honestly he isn't that great either.

I have a major problem with trying to draft a back-up that is similar to Cam's skillset. Cam's skillset is unique. Not many QBs in this league can be your goal-to-goal halfback. Cam is unique, and trying to draft guys that is similar to him will only be wasted draft picks in my opinion.

Let's get a QB who is projected to have success in the NFL. Let's draft a Tom Brady type in the 6th or 7th round. (Now realize what I'm saying. Tom Brady had success at the college level, who's skillset was a prototypical type. Let's get a guy who projects well in the NFL, not someone who's projected to play like Cam. Again, Cam is unique)

They're not trying to draft another Cam, they're trying to get someone in here as a backup who can run the entire playbook. A decent chunk of our plays work because Cam can run.

I was saying it would be such a waste of pick, we should just keep Anderson and Clausen, use the pick that would be supposedly used on this "Cam Newton-esque" backup on a position that is actually a need. I mean Derek Anderson is no slouch.

Vince Young is going to be a free agent, we could go and get him to back-up Cam. He could run the the Option as well as anyone who isn't Cam could.
