Panthers want to know if Chudzinski is still a candidate for Bucs job

Stop being obtuse, it was an analogy. Pretty simple to grasp the concept behind it too.

just a poor analogy.

very different situations, imo.

business ≠ personal relationships

people taking this way too personally and when you base things on personal feelings rather than business sense you end up making rash and bad decisions.

Not really. Yes, it's a business but it's a business like any other based upon personal relationships, nepotism, and mutual respect. There are any number of colloquial terms to describe this situation... "dance with the one you brought", etc. that describe this situation perfectly. At this time last year we were looking at a guy who had been run out of Cleveland after being a TE coach for most of his career and ended up being run back into the San Diego vacancy he left when he went to Cleveland, tail between his legs.

Nobody should fault the man for exploring opportunities presented to him. Nobody is taking issue with that or at least they shouldn't be. However, when your actions start to interfere with the offseason plans of the team that gave you a real shot to reestablish your credibility around the league, you're shooting yourself in the foot as well as hurting the team.

This one foot in and one foot out nonsense has been going on for way too long with this guy.... if he doesn't want to be here and will take any head coaching vacancy to get out then why not just release him and start the search in earnest for a guy that would like to be here?

you see it's not a matter of him not wanting to be here. it's a matter of him having goals, which all coaches have. he sees an opportunity to advance towards his goals so he interviewed and he's waiting to hear back.

if we just outright dropped him that would be more shooting ourselves in the foot than anything. it's honestly a bitch move. we know we have a good thing with chud and we have no guarantee of benefitting from him leaving. why create more drama and more problems by forcing yourself to go out and hire someone who might or might not do as good a job as the previous OC just because he *might* leave for another job.

it just makes very little sense and it's not being very pragmatic or logical.

right now the waiting is little more than a nuisance. there is plenty of time for them to get things together once a decision is made one way or the other.

panthers need to keep a level head in this situation rather than jumping the gun. they need to realize the benefit of continuity @ OC (which i'm sure they do) and not fire someone because of a "lack of commitment" or wahtever.

I think that making a move to show commitment to his own team will speak volumes about his character, and will make him a much better candidate for future jobs. He is paid to do his job here in carolina.

Show commitment to your organization by demanding an answer. Other, more lucrative franchises will take notice of his loyalty next time they need a HC.

sorry but this is fan logic......

Chud is not in a place to "demand" the Bucs make a quicker decision. The Superbowl hasn't even been played for crying out loud.

So being demanding to a future potential employer who is still figuring out what direction they want to go.......would improve his odds next time?

lol at how personally people are taking this whole thing. It's like Chud is personally slapping the franchise in the face or something. Yeah, it sucks that the Bucs are stringing this out, but hey, that's the business. This isn't a high school fling or whatever other dumb analogy some people are trying to attach to it.

You would think they are waiting on a Superbowl team coordinator waiting this long and just stringing Chud along? Either way, the draft and the lack of free agents that come in will be mostly Defensive players. The offense is stacked with players, if he does or does not come back.

same type logic people will use when Stewart's contract comes up...

He should be willing to take less money to play for "us". Come on Stewart, if you don't take a cheap deal after all we have done for you......you will be an a hole.

Or if Shockey decided to play for the Dolphins for a comparable deal to be close to home as his NFL career fades......Shockey would be a selfish and ungrateful douche.
