Panthers want to know if Chudzinski is still a candidate for Bucs job

This is getting annoying. They clearly are just fuging around with him...bandying about names and not serious about assembling a coaching staff in a reasonable amount of time. Chud should just take his name out of the list...if the Bucs really want him, they'll come after him.

This waiting around is putting things on hold for the Panthers and I know Rivera doesn't like this. This also has the unfortunate chance of causing tensions between the coaching staff, and that's not a good thing.

Jay Gruden was a stronger candidate than Chud..and declined TWO interviews to extend with Cincy because he loves what he has in Dalton...not saying Chud is the same kind of guy, but you would think he'd stick with a guy like Cam.

Gruden stayed because they offered him the big money, plus he didn't feel like he was ready.

Our fault for not offering him a raise and assistant hc status in exchange for him pulling his name.

I dont think that would have mattered. He has interviewed with everyone that would take him. He also really does not give a poo about the Panthers as well because of this situation. Rivera almost never goes to the media about these things so its obvious its a big problem.

I blame the ineptitude of the Bucs more than anything else.

You'd like for Chud to pull a Jay Gruden but Jay's in a different place. The Bengals could tire of Lewis and Jay could slide ride in ala Jason Garret. The situation here is different and RR would have to regress and stink for 2 more years before Chud would even be a thought. By that time he might not be a candidate (if we stink). Strike while the irons hot....now that said its still annoying

A large part of it would be that he does value what he has in the offense in the future. He was quoted as saying something to that effect.

And if Chud was such a wizard, why have we not extended the same courtesy given to Gruden by the Bengals?

I already think the guy is a bit overrated, but this thing thats going on with the Bucs is grating.

because he hasn't been offered the job. why would you try to compete with an offer that doesn't exist?

there's just a lot of melodrama and overreaction going on in this thread.

people taking it too personally.

I couldn't care less if he stays or goes to be honest. I have been that way for long since. He has been getting credit based on his work with a QB that is probably a generational talent.

My only problem with this is that he is still employed by the Carolina Panthers. If he were a "free agent", and this were going on.... tough luck. However, this is like being in a relationship with somebody and them going on dates with your rival who may or may not be interested in them. What do you do in that situation? You dump them.

We don't have to beg for people to come and coach Cam Newton. The line will be long behind him if he leaves.

all assistant coaches are essentially free agents for promotions between the end of their team's season and march 1.

However, this is like being in a relationship with somebody and them going on dates with your rival who may or may not be interested in them. What do you do in that situation? You dump them.

except it isn't anything at all like this....unless you are taking this thing too personally.

it's a business, not a relationship with a girl.
