Captain Munnerlyn "sick of" talk Panthers need a corner

I actually think Butler played well enough to be on the roster next year to compete for CB3 with Hogan & Captain. I think Butler is a really solid player...not a playmaker but he positions himself very well and can stick with the bigger guys. Bottom line: we need speed and ballhawking skills in our entire secondary.

So, yep...We still need a legit #2 regardless of Captain's current demeanor. Its good he's motivated; its bad that it still doesn't translate.

We have Captain Munnerlyn, Chris Gamble, Darius Butler, and Brandon Hogan. Who knows how well Hogan will do? Do you draft a CB without knowing what you have? Personally, I think the fact that you heard or saw little of Hogan in the last 2 games is telling. How often are you watching NFL games and a rookie CB comes in following knee surgery and his name is hardly called? Could be a good sign.

I have also read on other boards that Sherrod Martin could be joining the CBs, giving us 5.

A lot of problems at CB can be fixed with a pass rush. Hardy is the question mark, and I think he will be fine in 2012 if we get pressure up the middle.

It all falls back on the DT situation that Marty has not addressed properly--ever.

Captn-hes tired of all the talk of we need a CB

Panther Nation-tired of you getting burnt!

And you are Panther Nation's spokesperson?

Capt does well at the nickle. He is a 7th rounder. He has done well for the most part, considering we lack pass rush.

I look at it like this, our pass rush is way more of a concern right now. Hard to grade the DBs when the QB has all day to throw, and his contract is all most up anyway and i dont think he will be resigned so he will be a great situational player till then. Just an educated guess.

I love Captain as a nickel/dime and a gunner, but not as a starter. It seemed like a good idea after spot duty in 2010, but after seeing him in full-time action this year? Not so much.

I hope he sticks for his abilities in the roles I mentioned, but I've seen enough of him as a starter. He's an awesome role player though.
