Coples at Senior Bowl

So basically, he's a great option for us. But if he's as good and talented as they are saying then he wont last until our pick.

And i guess Carlos Dunlap may be another comparison if you don't agree with Mario Williams.

I don't know about Carlos but I saw Coples pull whodini's against subpar acc talent.

I remember when people on this board and across the country were saying that Mario Williams "would never be as good as Peppers", that he shouldnt have gone in the top five, and that Casserly intentionally screwed up the draft, pointing to Williams' lack of production at NC State.

I bet Casserly would have gone with Dareus over Newton...just saying

I was like you about Pep until his own teamates started ?ing his effort.

Beason did it on the radio in charlotte.

That's true but I think a lot of that was not believing in our team and philosophies. I for one, never liked John Fox or Jake Delhomme so I can understand it a little. I definitely wouldn't have pulled a bitch while making $17 million. I'm just sick of people acting like he isn't good. If we still had him it wouldn't matter who our DT's were, he and CJ would close the edge everytime. Sucks that it took so long for our FO to wake up.

Nobody said Pep wasn't good. But his own teamates said they were watching MNF and Jared Allen and asking themsleves why Pep wasn't bringing it like him. When Beason calls you out their is a problem.

Not to mention Pep admittied it.

Let's make this Clear Coples is not in Pep or super mario catagory or level. Those 2 could slack off and still get a sack.

Pep is and was a freak of nature.

Mario is such a good athete they move him to OLB and still no drop off.

Coples is more like Gaines Adams (RIP) and D bowers

He's still a big strong 6'6 dude who can run. He will probably already be better against the run than Pep ever was. The next guy to come out like Pep/Mario is that Clowney guy from Rock Hill. I watched him dominate in agame last year as a freshman

Clowney is a freak of nature. Coples does the whodini to much for my liking.

FINALLY somebody else sees this.

He's a good athlete, but Mario and Peppers are freakish athletes. I'd only take a guy with Coples' athletic ability at #8/9 if he was incredibly polished (i.e. he had a variety of pass rushing moves/could set the corner etc) AND had an unrelenting motor.

Coples doesn't have either of these. I'll pass unless we trade down.
