Report/ Unconfirmed Rumor: Chip Kelly to Tampa???

Chip Kelly is slightly different from Harbaugh considering Chip Kelly has ZERO NFL experience whatsoever. Harbaugh never coached in the NFL, but obviously had his playing experience.

I would die of laughter if they hired Kelly.

He was actually an NFL assistant for the Raiders for two years before he got into college coaching

Chip is an offensive genius. Although highly unlikely, what if Tampa hired him, swapped picks with the Rams somehow and took RGIII? With the right QB, Kelly can run his zone read offense and Griffin is a superior version of Darron Thomas.

that wouldnt be a wise move, they have a QB in Freeman, replacing him wouldnt be a great move, though getting Darron Thomas is NOT out of the question in a later round.

This makes me happy because I don't think his stuff will work in the NFL. Reminds me of Spurrier to the Redskins.

i think it could be worse. Spurrier ran a fun n gun style of offense that had trick plays and others, but Chip seems to run some type of spread, hurry up offense and i dont know if that will work. though i admit, it will be interesting.

You think Freeman could run Chip's offense? I really don't.

According to Wikipedia, that's not true...

His coaching history (after graduating from the University of New Hampshire in 1990):

1990: Columbia (DB/ST)

1991: Columbia (OLB/SS)

1992: New Hampshire (RB)

1993: Johns Hopkins (DC)

1994–1996: New Hampshire (RB)

1997–1998: New Hampshire (OL)

1999–2006: New Hampshire (OC)

2007–2008: Oregon (OC)

2009–present: Oregon (HC)

And Spurrier was considered somewhat of an offensive genius when he came to the NFL as well...

We have legs folks....Bucs Beat writer chimes in:

Rick Stroud @NFLSTROUD

Oregon coach Chip Kelly is finalizing a deal to become the Bucs head coach, sources confirmed to the Tampa Bay Times Sunday

Kelly met with general manager Mark Dominik and members of the Glazer family this past week.

Both Kelly and the Bucs are proceeding down a path that they mutually hope will result in an agreement in the next 24-48 hours.

Jim Harbaugh, Not Chip Kelly
