Lots of fans here would blame Mare in a similar Panther game. That kick should have never been nessessary. Even made, it only would have prolonged the better teams victory.

If you believe that, get rid of field goals all together. They are a part of the game, and when they don't come through, they deserve just as much blame as anyone else that doesn't come through when it matters most.

And if they do that, there wouldn't be much time left. According to the announcer, they had one time out. They would have to call it when they picked up the first down or spike it very quickly. Then they have one shot at the end zone before kicking the three. Might as well just take the shot at the endzone on the 3rd and one, and lessen the risk of a mistake.

The field goal was a chipshot and should have been made. Can't blame the playcalling.

i wasnt, i was blaming the execution. or lack thereof. Flacco wanted to play for OT on that 3rd and 1. 30 something seconds with a TO on the 10 yard line is plenty of time.

chipshot was missed, some kickers cant do it with that pressure.

Its not like Evans completely dropped the ball, the CB made a nice play.

He didn't drop the ball, it's worse....he completely secured the catch and relaxed before the conclusion of the play....that's obvious. Then had an incredulous look when it was stripped away.

I think in the endzone you need to possess the ball threw the end of the play... or two feet and a football move... either way I went back and watched it in slow mo.. as soon as the 2nd foot came down the ball had just came out.

They only had one timeout left.... if he simply ran the ball they would have had to burn their last time out, almost ensuring a FG... atleast he took a shot down the field.

with 30 seconds on the 10 yard line? after running for the 1st he could have easily went out of bounds or got the team to the LOS and spiked the ball to save the TO. trust me teams practice those situations all the time. FG would have been the very last thing on my mind.

Hinds sight is always 20/20.... or he could have tried to make a play down field like he did.... If he did and they caught the ball then everyone would be saying how amazing flacco was or the play calling...

In football the opposite of what happens is not always the right move like some would like to believe. It's always easier from the sideline when you ar not having to make split second decisions on a fast paced football field.
