yep you have a bad thing going on in there. Try Control Panel/Internet Properties/Programs/Manage Add Ons and see if there's something there that you can shut down to help. Check your Trusted Sites for anything that seems wrong and make sure your security level for Internet Zone is at least medium high.

you might be kinda screwed though. I've had where one browser failed to launch but not both - that was a long time ago...

Use Chrome not Internet Exploder.
