Panthers helped 49ers beat Saints

surprised no Panther fans have mentioned Vic Fangio; current 49ers DC

Maybe because he is tied to Saints and their Dome Patrol days. This is a pretty sad thread trying to find a way to connect a team that didn't even finish with a winning record to a Divisional playoff win by another team. Pretty much every single team has players and staff from almost every other team. How about the center for 49ers was the longtime center for Saints lost in FA this past year and faced the Saints defense every week and was able to disclose tons of info.

Wow, just such a sad thread! It's the old misery loves company bit, yet Saints still won playoffs game, won their Division, added two superstars that are almost impossible to cover, and have the best offense in history of NFL. Wasnt a bad year for Saints and a new DC to get defense issues fixed makes for a bright future.

Actually the 2013 SB in New Orleans odds just posted yesterday. The best odds are Packers at 5-1 and Saints at 6-1 and drops to 10-1 and worse from there! Not a bad time to be a Saints fan

no no no no no! rogers is one of those evil outside free agents!

why in the world would we pay $2.13 million for a pro bowl CB when he's from a -gasp- different team

much better to reward our own guys, like giving $72 million for a DE to get 9 sacks or $43 million for a RB to get 9 carries a game

duh man, JR and hurney know what they're doing!

Congrats on making the playoffs with the best offense in history and still going home empty handed

Odds are just that, odds. They're all based on presuppositions and speculation. Football is NOT that predictable, jackass.

What is sad is, instead of just letting us be, you feel the need to come in here and talk about how sad it is that this thread is even here in the first place. I think I speak for everybody here when I say that Louisiana is about the biggest waste of land in this country, which is saying something, considering North Dakota and Idaho are a part of this country.

Not exactly empty handed. Saints added another banner to Superdome, 2011 Division champs as well as some more Saints uniforms on display in Canton, OH. Empty handed is what the Panthers ended up with.

Legitimate, though Fangio was on staff long before the current Saints regime.

Panther connections on the current 49ers staff...

Special Teams Coach Brad Seely - coached Panthers special teams from 1995 to 1998

Defensive Coordinator Vic Fangio - Panthers defensive coordinator, 1995-1998

Offensive Coordinator Greg Roman - worked on Panthers staff as an assistant/quality control guy on both sides of the ball from 1995 to 2001; last spot was as assistant offensive line coach

Quarterback Coach Geep Chryst - offensive quality control/tight ends coach from 2006 to 2010

And lest we forget...

Head Coach Jim Harbaugh - quarterback, Carolina Panthers, 2001

Cam has a football in Canton or breaking a record as a rookie that stood for 35 years, congrats on the banner, Brees can use that for a blanket if he gets cold while he's watching the superbowl on his couch.
