Seems like the Pats have opened MNF a few times haven't they? Or is it AFC East/AFC West. Or random for the first match up?

SNF is random I think. Aside from Dallas getting about 3 per year no matter what their record is.

Denver plays at Charlotte so it isn't possible. And outside of Charlotte, no one cares that John Fox use to coach the Panthers. That brings zero ratings. The Denver game may be a national game but not because of John Fox.

We usually start against an NFC team at home due to CBS not having late games Week 1 because of US Open tennis coverage, so I wouldn't be surprised if Carolina-San Diego were the Week 1 game.
