It amazes me how insightful you are. I never realized that teams had different bye weeks each year. What does that have to do with the super bowl? That argument has no backing. There are a lot of teams that have not been to the super bowl once in the last 14 years. Good argument

Still though, the more favorable your odds of winning it all... the better your chances of winning the ring. Early bye week can typically be a disaster. Not always but it can be a disaster.

I have to agree with AK on this, I don't think when the bye is makes much difference at all. Every coach I've seen interviewed on the subject downplays its importance as well.

Yea its not the deciding factor of your team winning it all or not... But take 8 weeks of solid football on your starters and no bye week, then give them that bye week on week 9 and you can finish the season out fresher. Where as with having it after only 3 games played... Carolina runs the gauntlet of 13 straight games of praying there are no serious injuries... and then the playoffs. But yea, we all have our own point of view on it.

Week 4 is not a bad week to have it, especially compared to last season when it really just messed everything up taking away a good bit of momentum we had built up heading into it.

If it makes anyone happier, in our Super Bowl run back in 2003, our bye week was Week 3.

So we got a bye and it's early in the season. Some will say thats great and some will not. It's not there to please us in any shape or form. We aren't even the ones who have to deal with it in real terms either.
